Do you always lock your house?

I remember early days when I lived in country and house locking was something you do if you leave the town for longer than a day. Otherwise, my house was always unlocked, it was really safe place to live in. I left my bike outside all summer and no one had any idea about stealing it. I wish this safety was still alive these days.

Hi there,
I remember those days as well and sure miss them. I live in an apartment building and I always lock the door even if i'm just going down to check my mail or going down to the laundry room. You just never know who may be lurking around in the building. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems, but you never know. Its better to be safe than sorry.

We always lock our doors, even though we live in a pretty safe neighborhood. I can usually leave stuff lying around outside without worries though. I have been known to leave my windows down on my truck at night, though, and no one has ever bother anything so far...

Sadly in todays society you have no choice but to lock your doors, not like back in the 50s, 60s and certainly the 70s where you could leave your doors open, leave your children out to play and walk into each others houses for a drink and chatter, those were the good days for sure and they will never return, security is now paramount from cars to houses, everything, in some cases things need to be screwed down to stop people stealing. No where is safe now. It would be lovely to live in a safe neighbourhood again where you didn't have to worry about locking your home and fearing violence and people who would rob others without a thought or deterrant.

We live in country side and its always safe to leave our house open and nothing gets stolen. Its so safe that once our neighbour went out for lunch to near by joint and left the door completley wide open with his cell in full view and still when he came back nothing was missing. We have shifted here a yyear backbefore this I was in Delhi and we could not even think of leaving doors open like this. Even your cycles and cars you had to keep them locked with chains or you had a fat chance of something getting stolen. When I shifted here it was a very diferent experience and its really so less stressful and so peaceful. You wish the whole world was like this.

Yes, i always make sure to lock our door before leaving our studio type condo unit.. you know, there have been robbery incidents here despite of having round the clock security guards.. yay! to think, there are roughly 4-6 security guards on duty every day..

Well I don`t always lock my door. I have gone off all day and left the door open. But then again I now live in Japan people for some reason don`t really steal. Add the fact that there are security cameras everywhere you can`t get away with it.You will get caught. When i lived in Korea , I never worried about it because my landlord lived next door.I once left and left my door wide open everything was in place when i got home.

We do lock our house before we leave and before going to bed because there are so many robbers in our subdivision. We were robbed three times already when we are not around, I guess robbers are always on look out. Due to the economic crisis that the whole world is facing now, expect newlyborn robbers and fresh criminals. For our safety, its better to lock up at all times because you can never tell when a crime will happen.

Yes, I always lock my house. It is crucial to the security of my house to keep it locked. Not only houses, but cars and anything else with a lock should be locked in order for it to not be stolen and/or broken in to. You just can't trust enough to not lock everything up.

Oh yes I do lock the door of my house. Even if the main wooden door is left ajar, there is still a grill door that is locked. Grill door and wooden door is locked at all times but if we are waiting for a courier pick up then the wooden door is left ajar. In my state, one cannot afford not to lock their house door.

Yes, we always lock our doors, especially our front door. We usually do this every time we go out or if no one stays in our living room. Most important time that we're locking our house is during night time, to avoid bad elements . Well, though we're living in a village with lots of security, we can't assure of our safety here. That's why we must do our part to protect ourselves and of course our house. lol!

Hmmm... but nowadays we are scared so much by media... media never reports if 1000 trains went safe. If 0ne in 1000 trains derail, it is reported and people become gloomy. Similarly housebreaking incidents are reported in papers and people imagine it might happen to them also
