Which is more reliable - Windows XP or Vista?

I am using both versions on my computer. As a video editor, I prefer XP because of compatibility issues. For copy and burn purposes, I use Vista because it has better transfer speed. How about security? Is Service Packs for XP reliable than Vista's Window's Defender? Thanks in advance...

I also prefer winXP for video editing because most editing programs are much stable. I tried Adobe Premiere Pro on vista, and it can't import audios from videos. I don't know even I used one adobe installer for both OS.

Clearly windows XP is better than windows Vista and there's a lot of reasons.Firstly the compatibility , Nothing seems to be compatible with any version of vista , i've tried all of them and not even one seems to be better in compatibility and support than windows XP ..Then there's the speed ..Since requirements for windows vista are too large,it runs at a snail's speed on any present generation computer and reduces the time efficiency of program or application and reduces hardware life...And there are lots more..I could keep listing them ..But aren't the above reasons to choose windows XP over vista ??

Some applications may need some upgrading for vista, but popular applications have come up with new versions ready for vista. I have tried several and it runs faster. If you are using a pirated version of either OS, you could encounter speed issues and bugs. I have been using both OS in my machine and never encountered hardware problems so far.

I use Windows Vista that is what came with my computer I like it a lot. I have used Xp in the past at local librarys but to me I did not like it myself. I guess it is beacuse I have been using Vista for over a year now. I had heard that there is a Windows 7 that is coming out but I am not sure when it will be available though. Happy mylotting to you and have a nice day!

My friend i am using both window xp and window vista in same computer. When i works on internet that time i use window vista. For other purpose i use window xp. As i observed that performance of internet is better in window vista compare to window xp.For good performance of your computer by using window vista , RAM of computer should be 1 GB or more. Window xp professional is also performing well in 1 GB RAM. I like both of them.

I am using XP and find it very reliable. I am reluctant to upgrade because of all the horror stories that I have heard about Vista. I heard Vista is very slow and is hungry with system resourses and have read that alot of people downgarde from Vista to Xp because of it. For now I am happy with XP, it has never caysed me any major problems as yet.

I prefer windows XP because it is a lot easier for me or maybe I get used to it. When we bought this new computer it is already packed with windows vista home premium. I thought it is okey but then I got problem with the sound when I am listening music using Windows Media Player, the sound is distorted. Its been a major problem for me. The XP that is licensed is very expensive....I still want the XP. I think the Vista need to update its issues. I also cannot burn cd with lightscribe. I dunno why. I need to bring the computer to the technician..hehehe
