Educational background : associate or bachelor degree?

Most of the companies accept applicants with a bachelor degree but how about the people who have a 2 year course ( associate )? Aren't they suitable for the job? Some companies do not know the capacity of every person unless they try it or the person will show what he/she can really do. I know that it will be difficult but there are test and interviews so why not accept applicants that at least 2 years or have an associate course with the field they are looking for. Through my experience I saw a lot of people specially in the IT field keep on studying and updating themselves on their own. Me as a student of an associate course I am doing a self study so I can be updated too with regard to the new software. So if I can have the knowledge of that 4 year grad applicant do you think I can be accepted to the job? So can it be that the company will give it a try to expand the limit in the educational background that have at least an associate degree?

My first husband landed an EXCELLENT job with just an associate's degree, but I have no idea if that would be true for any job. I have tried for many jobs in my field, but they require a bachelor's - so that's what I'm trying to earn. It's frustrating because it's a lot more work and a lot more money.
