Hi there, I live in an apartment, and I'm lucky to have my floors carpeted. My kitchen and bathroom are tiles. I do notice my tiled floors colder in the winter especially the bathroom after you get out of the shower. But, they're great in the summer time when your feet are hot and swollen. ~proudnana~

I have laminate flooring but it is only in part of the house. The other part of the house I have carpet. I think that laminate looks really nice but carpet is warmer so for that reason I guess I like the carpet better, but I'm not really sure because the laminate is easier to take care of. It is good looking.

I like carpeted floors except for in the bathroom and kitchen as I like to wash those to make sure they are very clean....I like the warmth of carpet in the bedrooms and living room areas....

vanities when I was in our own home I had real wood flooring, dark oak and I loved it as it fitted the style of our house and we had a den with redwood panelling and a light white oak flooring.I really like real wood flooring.we had carpeting in our bedrooms, and a heavy non moving throw rug on the tiled bathroom floor.

I have carpet on all my floor except for my laundry room it has linoleum on it. I have a porch that also have linoleum on it. I did have carpet in the laundry room when we brought the house but when we had it leak we had to take it out. I decide it would be easier to put linoleum in that room so we could move the washing machine and dryer easier.

I prefer tiles not carpet because tiles is permanently but carpet is required to change after some months.

I live in a Condo where there is Tiling in the Kitchen, the front walkway, and in the Bathroom, but the rest of the area is carpeted. It looks Ok, but starting to really look dingy and we would Love to get it replaced. We actually have a lot of things that we would Love to get replaced and make our place look better, but just never have the $$ to do so. But it is nice when it is Cold outside to have the warmth from the carpet on your feet, but when it is really cold it feels nice to have a warn pair of socks on as well.

We have carpets all over except in the bathroom, the kitchen, and the basement. The basement is not finished yet. It does get rather cold here in winter, so I feel that a carpet is necessary. If I were you, I would look into purchasing carpets, especially for your living room and bedroom. It would be nicer and you might not get a cold. Ask the salesperson the best one, something like nylon that does not need much upkeep. Avoid shag carpets and those where you pull one strand and it comes apart. And make sure a professional puts it in. It costs more, but the savings are worth it in the long run.

We live in an apartment with cheap carpet and they call the floor in the kitchen and bathroom tile, but it is really linoleum squares... Someday I would like a house with wood and or tile floors. I don't know if we would have carpet in the bedrooms or not, but we definitely wouldn't the rest of the house!

I live on an apartment and the floors are all tiled. There is no carpet in our apartment except a big piece of rug in the living room and bath mats just outside the bathroom and 3 pieces of thin rugs in the kitchen. I wear bedroom slipper all over the house except bathroom and my husband just goes barefoot. I am unlike you who likes to feel the coldness of the tiles. I prefer not to get my barefeet on the tiles..........I feel that having tiles is easy to clean than having carpet. With tiles, I jut mop the floor where else if the whole house is carpeted, then the carpet tend to collect dust.

We are just renting a house now, it is also a bungalow type house. The house is not even tiled when we started to use it so we bought some length of vinyl (linolium) for the floor. I wish to tile the floor because I really love the feelings of cold floors. But of course, we are just renting it and I don't want to spend some money for it...

Well, i've been staying in a studio type condo unit which can never be mine.. my room is fully tiled and as much as i wanted to change the layout, the walls and floorings, i can't.. i'm not that contented with the usual tile flooring because it accumulates too much dirt and i hate it.. if given a chance, i'd like to have a nice carpet for my floor..

I have a mixture of carpet and tiles. In the bedrooms, we have carpets although my parents are thinking of switching to tiles. In the hallways and basement, it's tile. I must add that having heated flooring or tiles is very beneficial and comfortable on the feet!

We have almost the same type of house and flooring. The whole house is covered with tiles. My friends used to call it a jumbo restroom! The living room has a carpet over the tiles. It doesn't get cold here that much so it's nice to walk barefoot. If I would design my own house, I'd make wooden flooring. I just love its traditional look.

we have ceramic tiles in our house. your cemented tiles is ok and i would suggest that you get yourself a nice carpet tiles to put on it during the cold season. at least, with it , you can replace and clean the carpet tiles anytime!

Hello vanities, I have tiles flooring too. Oh, yes! Sometimes I do wish to buy nice carpet to cover the floor. I can't stand the cold and so I always wear a pair of slippers at home.

We have porcelain tile and wood and wall-to-wall carpeting. We're slowly getting rid of all the carpets except the one in our home gym. I would have put tile and wood in the entire house when we built it, but there was no way to offset the costs. So we put carpet in all the bedrooms and in the party room -- and have been slowly replacing them with ceramic and porcelain tile. We only have two more rooms to do and we'll be done. I wear socks in winter s well and our morning TV room has a small area rug that I put away in spring and summer.

Most of our house has carpeting on the floors. There are only two rooms that are not carpeted. Those rooms are the kitchen and the bathroom, which makes sense since that's where there is water. Although, the laundry room has carpeting. I wonder if that should be gone.

Our entire lower level of our house is hard wood floor, we had them put in a couple of years ago. They are very pretty, and the house looks cleaner and more stylish without the carpeting. Our upstairs however still has the carpeting. We will probably leave carpeting up there. The basement also has carpeting, it is very thickly padded carpet because that is where the kids play and we wanted them to be safe playing down there.

Hey vanities! I have carpet and I hate it! Even though it is very cold here in the winter and I know that the floor would be very cold I would prefer to have bare wooden floors. I would much rather have the floors re-done then have carpet. My carpet is old and stained and it needs to be thrown out! I can't afford to replace it so it looks awful! It is so hard keeping carpet! I am always dropping and spilling things! I really wish I could get rid of it!
