is the internet a positive or negative technology?

Internet is a technology.Good or bad depends upon how it is made use of.There are people who use it for very positive work and there are who use it for other purposes as well.So,its internet which is good or bad,it is we who can make it good or bad.

It is positive because it is very useful for most peoples. for example students,busness man are using internet. Maximum 1 croses people everytime work in interne and online jobs are useful to them.

I guess its neutral because internet is just there for you to use. As to how you will utilize it depends on the person's intent. It is just like money, you could use it for a good as well as bad thing that is why we cannot say that money is the root of all evil because money is just there and it is man who decides what to make use of it and money has no influence whatsoever to the person holding it.

I completely agree with you that there are two sides to every coin. The internet is a wonderful way to gain knowledge and meet people. However, it can also be used for corruption and crime. It's not right to say whether the internet is good or bad without analyzing the user's intent.

There are always a positive and a negative side to everything. It's just a matter of knowing how to maximize or utilize the positive sides while making improvements to adjust on the negative sides and better yet, turn them as advantages. Internet is neither a positive nor a negative technology.

hello i think that the internate can be a good thing and a bad thing becuse the internate is not only mad for your benifite but it can be addictiing also becuase alot of people spend theier thime looking or watching nasty things and that can send viruses to your computer and close it down . but the good thing about a computer is that you can look up stuff and fine what you need in matter of seconds sarah

Personally I agree that is can be Positive and Negative depending on what you are doing with it and your time here as well. If you are going in sites and such creating havic, and in sites incondusive to where you need to be, than it can be Troubles. But personally the reason it can be Good is that it opens your door to learning about a lot of different things out there. It also offers you many ways to earn some extra $$ and meet some wonderful people from all over the world. I have been online now since 1997, and could never imagine my life anywhere else.

Any technology never be bad the fact is how people utilise it in which way if we will use internet in positive way then i think it is most useful medium for knowledge,earning everything you can guess ,but if we will use in negative purpose then that will be our mistake not the fault of the technology.

Internet is the one of the wonderful invention of technology. There is no doubt on it. Internet is ocean of knowledge. But the problem is some people are not using the positive side of internet and using it for negative aspects only. There are many examples for that also. For any technology there will be some set backs. But you have to think in the perspective of overall performance.

Anything that deems "catchy" is always controversial. Personally, I think the internet is a great and wonderful luxury! As with everything in life, it's not the power it's the person with the power. If it weren't for people abusing the good things in life, we'd have more of it.

i think internet there 2 side like coins if person use for good things and thats is positive technology but if someone use for bad that negative technology. internet depend to person who use for.

It depends on how to use the internet.we can get a sea of information and do a lot of daily work via it.On the other hand,i think it makes people a bit indifferent.

The internet can be used for both good and evil. Someone can use the internet to help others while some use the internet to hurt others. It all depends on how we use it.

Hello There. That would really depends on where and how you use the Internet technology today. But for me, Internet technology is good stuff since I am using it for gathering information with all the latest hookups and stuff in computers and networking. Being a techsupport, I know I need to be updated and buying books are very expensive when I want to study plus I don't have time to go to a library to read so it is very big advantage for me to be able to browse e-books on the internet and read some of the details. Furthermore, many people would comment or give hints/suggestions on how they make the device work so it really save my time from really reading etc. Most importantly, the one very good reason why internet technology is positive is that it broadens the communication between people. I mean, I can reach and talk to my boyfriend when i have to. I can send emails or text via the Internet when it is emergency. Last, it gives you a way to earn extra cash or money with this kind of sites. I am just so sad to know that they use Internet technology for some bloggers or people who would make some "lucid" websites for scandals to get money even if they hurt or harm other people... so I really believed that it depends on how we utilize the Internet in our everyday life. I agree with you that its up to us human being on how we used the things that we have in this world. I believe that everything in this world whether a material things or not, it has always a pros and cons, right and wrong. Just like your example which is internet, human being are the one who invented it and it is also human being who will going to used this invention.. We all know that through internet connection, our life become easier especially for those students and I think to everybody. It helps the students to easily search from the internet their assignment or things that they want to know while for some internet connection can help them find new friends, lover, or able to contact their love one's in abroad.. However, no matter what effective and useful the internet is in our life still there are so many risk and negative feedback can come out.. The reason of this is because of how people used this thing.. Some people used internet to make some virus, fooling other people, and sometimes hurting their own self. Yes, you're right! We shouldn't see things or judge the things through the power that they can do but rather in the way on how people were using or dealing it..

i agree with u, that it will be two side in everything. there are 2 side of internet using. it can both of bad and good using. it depend on us who use internet. internet can be really help us to search many information that it can not find in newspaper or just in a book. internet is also can give many disadvantages in our life. many hackers trying to steale information from a company, and many bad informations that should not take by our children.

I certainly agree with you. It is the motive of the person using the internet that is to be considered as right or wrong. For example, if somebody uses the internet to promote bad ideas then that is bad for people who will follow it. But if somebody uses the internet for good reasons then why condemn technology?

exactly! it really matters on how people utilize the internet. mostly today w/ regards to our lifestyle internet has a big positive impact. in school this has improved the ways of learning since it provides a wide reference for students as well w/ teachers. this has also helped educate some people. this has helped us developed our computer skills. and a lot more...that makes our lifestyle more convenient & exciting at the same time...
