Everybody knows that the whole world is experiencing economic crisis. Everyday, more and more big companies are cutting off their work forces and closing their stores/branches. I'm just wondering if the entertainment industry is also affected by the financial crisis? Should we expect that lesser movies will come out this year compared to last year? Will the quality of these movies will be an issue? Can we still see big stars on the big screen?

I think everybody is affected with economic crisis, although companies are mostly affected are those from electronics, factory, banking and real estate, movie industry is not exempted. Raw materials for film making are also increasing plus the burgeoning production costs, since mostly films are not quite having good performance in the box office now adays, producers might not receiving their expected profits.

I think all industries will be affected but not necessarily for the worse. We just have to tighten up our budgets and make a dollar stretch just a little further than it used to.

Actually I've been reading that because of the economic crisis, movies are actually doing better. If you think about it, people are trying to get away from life and forget about money problems by going to the movies and relaxing.
