Yes, I believe in hypnotism there is both science and then myths about it. Hypnosis works with the subconscious mind, to help retrain through patterns, to help bring about a positive change. In the way I am used to working with it. However bad hypnotists can cause psychological issues too. So be careful. - DNatureofDTrain

I believe it is legit. I've seen many of my friends and aquaintances get hypnotized and their reactions during and after the hypnosis convinced me that it was real.
