Any comments about Odesk?

I'd like to know your opinions and comments regarding Odesk. It seemed to be a great place to apply to pursue freelancing career. As I've seen the providers work history and the huge amount of money they are getting for doing a job well done, I am sort of interested to try it too. Right now, I'm doing a freelance writing career, doing research and content writing for other people particularly with regards to their scholarly papers (theses, dissertations).. though I'm not the direct contact of the client, assignments are given to me by a third party and any revisions or further suggestions as per client request regarding my work are forwarded to my email so I could keep track of my work. I get paid on time right after I have submitted the assigned paperwork,yet, I still felt a little compensated with what I'm receiving now. That's why, when I came to know the website of Odesk, which offers a great avenue for freelancers like me to be directly hired by customers, it seemed to be very interesting and intriguing too.. Are there any Odesk providers here, i really need your opinion...
