Have we reached the top and started turning back?? Lately I found out that a lot of people started turning back. Like giving up driving and start taking public transport, cycling and even start walking ( short distance ). Stop using air condition and started with the fans. Lesser of restaurant more of home cook food.
Use lesser of the vacuum cleaner and more of the broom.
What do you think??

With the economy downturn, people are striving to save. Going around with a car is of course much more convenient, but cost of maintaining a car is much higher than taking public transport.
Air-conditioners consume 3-4 times more electricity than the fans, so this can save a lot too.
Vacuum cleaners use electricity too, but broom use hand powers, no cost, lol.
Comparing restaurant food and home cook food... home cook food is unique, you can't get it anywhere else, on top of that, you don't have to pay more on the expensive-air-conditioned-room food, and eating in the comfort of home. This should be a good change.

Now are in a recession many people are trying to save money and cut back on spending. It costs quite a lot to maintain a car on the road and in some cases taking public transport would be cheaper. If a couple spend much on eating out when they become parents it might be sensible to eat at home. Otherwise they would need to pay a baby sitter. Lives change and people must adapt I guess.

I never think of not doing anything at all. I like to do things and learn things and trying things out are one of the things in this life that I like doing. I don't like the past because it is done and I cannot change it. Cheers!!

I think people have become less frivlous with their spending and such. One has to do what one has to do to save a dime or two where they can. That's why alot of people are going back to the basic's the standbys when technology and income let us down. If we had sidewalks & didn't get a ton of snow in winter I'd be all for ditching a car as we live fairly close enough to walk to places but we like most have gotten used to driving to every lil place.
But you know I like cooking @ home (not the dirty dishes of course ;) ) and sometimes I think technology has gotten out of hand. We live by whatever technology throws at us and we thrive at it. I've been thinking about when our kids get bigger and such to institute a big sunday family dinner, like they did before jobs and other activities gave way to spending time with your family.
