People like to travel. I am a traveler and I enjoy it with friends. They can make traveling more interesting because you can have somebody to talk to on the way to the place. There would be plenty of giggles and you develop your bond even more. You also have somebody to do activities with like swimming, hiking. Imagine how it could be a bore to do all things by yourself.
On the other hand, for short trips, I prefer to be alone. I would have time to think and I have nobody else to worry about. I don't have to wonder if they are tired, bored, hungry, etc.
What about you? Do you prefer to travel alone or with a group?

When I travel, I am at least with my partner. I enjoy his company, and he is the one who drives, usually. Rarely, we have others with us. Mainly if we are going to a concert, festival or some sort of social event. I have not made any significant travels alone. For the most part, just going across whatever city I was in and such. Having multiple people can grow tiresome as they complain about boredom, needing to use the restroom, being hungry and so on. My parnter and I do not feel like it is awkward to have silence sometimes, and we are insync with eachothers bodies, so we never have that problem.

I made my first solo trip to Las Vegas one year ago this month. Well, it was my first solo vacation period. My thinking was, even when I go with friends, we go our separate ways when we hit the casino, which is about 75% of our time. Then we just meet up to eat or go to a show or whatever. So I figured a couple of days by myself, it probably won't feel any different.
Boy, was I wrong. I was actually a little lonely. I had nobody to joke around with. No one to go look for to see how they were doing or if they were ready to go eat. When I was getting tired I even felt strange knowing I had the hotel room all to myself.
What this trip made me realize is that sharing the trip and the experiences on the trip is really what I enjoy the most. So, that'll probably be my last solo vacation, if I can help it.

Traveling alone is a completely different experience compared to traveling with friends. I like going solo better, its more of an inner journey as well as an outer one

These days I travel with you toddler son and since he was born I have taken him on trips to Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and South Africa. He smiles a lot and so the local people usually really like him and people are surprised that he is well behaved on flights. I enjoy showing him different parts of the world because travel is my top hobby. When I was 17 I traveled to the Netherlands with my friend. After that I enjoyed traveling on trips that none of my friends wanted to go on like inter railing around Europe. My longest trip was for just over one year and that was around the world. I met many friendly people on that trip and never felt lonely. Traveling alone was excellent because I could have my choice of destinations, pace of traveling and accommodation. My ex-boyfriend was scared of insects and liked luxury accommodation whilst I preferred budget accommodation.

Right! When you travel alone, you could plan your own itinerary and you don't have to ask for others' opinion about something. Much of the time is wasted on deciding about where to eat, sleep or go shopping.

Hello there nympha687!I love traveling. That is one of the things that I really splurge on. There are times when I would prefer traveling alone which I have done already several times. However, it would really be fun to travel with a lot of people. That is specially true if traveling is done with family and friends.
I do agree with you. When traveling alone, we do not have other people to worry about. We can do anything and everything to some extent.

i do agree with you.
If the trip is full of activities (meaning no shopping), i'd love to enjoy it with a group of pals. It makes the experience more fun.
However if i'm on a shopping holiday, i would prefer to either go alone or with my family. Or maybe just ONE or two of my close pals. This is becuase with too big a group will cause alot of time wasted on waiting for each other.

Right. I hate it when there are too many of you doing the shopping. You'll just take care of your friend's belongings while she is fitting, wait for her to try the clothes on so she could get your opinion. You eventually end the day without having a purchase of your own.

I've known a couple of people who've traveled by themselves and enjoyed the experience, but I don't think I could. I've never traveled alone and I don't think I ever will. It seems too lonely.

if i am going to travel , i would rather do it alone because i get to go where i want to go without anyone dragging me down or suggesting where to go. i get to enjoy and meditate on the sceneries better and the fun part of traveling is to get to meet know people along the way.

It depends what I'm travelling for. If it's just to relax and unwind, then travelling with friends is great, as you can catch up without the hassles of everyday life interferring.
But if I'm travelling to a new place, and I know that I'm going to want to do a lot of things, I prefer to travel by myself, so I can explore the way that I want to. That way I'm not locked in to moving on at a particular time, because that's what the 'plan' was.

I could never travel alone, even though I'm quite happy to have time alone at home. When I'm travelling, I need someone to share the experience. I'm always saying, "Wow! Look at that!", "Did you see that?", "Hey, LOOK at that!!". I love it when travelling companions point out things too, as I don't want to miss anything. I think I'd burst if I had travel without having someone there to enjoy it with me.

Same as you.If travelling far, I'd like to be in a group thus I can have someone to talk to ,and also it would be more interesting when visiting strange places. For short trips or to some familiar places, I prefer to be alone, so I have more freedom to make my own choice.Anyway,it depends on your mood.

I'd travel alone. It would be lonely but I like doing stuffon my own. This way I don't have to wait for anyone! I don't have to answer to anyone! I can go at my own pace. I pretty am like that in every day life!

I used to travel alone andit was no fun. After getting married, I obviously travel with my hubbie and we do al lot of interesting and exciting things together like white river rafting in Zimbabwe, beaching in Miami, jet-ski in Bermuda and a Spice tour in Zanzibar. Travelling is fun!

I like to travel with friends as well as alone. Traveling with friends is great because everyone has their own ways of seeing/doing things and it can be lots of fun to see how others see things. Sometimes I like to be with just my husband and even some times just with me.

Traveling alone is very boring and there is no way you would enjoy your travel alone. well maybe there would be someone that you will meet on the way or on your destination itself. maybe you would find friends that you can join for dinner or something

Yeah, I agree with you, i mean, when you travel with a group of friends you have a great time by doing activities like swimming, hiking or another activities but if you are going to some place like for shopping or something like that I really prefer to be alone because you have all the time you want to think and also you dont have to worry about somebody else.
So i agree with you 100% :D
Bye..!
