Facing your greatest fear!

They say that the greatest cripple in life is your fears.
And in order to get out of being in a crippled stage, facing it is the only way.
And in order to face it, you have to do certain things to over come that fear.
Depending on the fear that you face, it can range from going to counseling to performing what you fear most. Like for example, in the recent fear factor, this girl was so afraid to drive on the highway, she was challenged to do it.
After much persuasion and test driving, she finally got onto the highway and drove all the way to the interstate and back.
Some fears are easy to conquer. Like if you are afraid of cooking, forcing yourself to try cooking a few dishes may help you to overcome that fear.
But some fears are tough to handle. Like the fear of heights. How do you conquer a fear like that? Or a fear of flying... how much are you willing to spend to over come that fear?
Do you have a fear? Do you find ways to try and conquer it?
Will conquering one fear lead to new fears?

heya!
I have been well but busy tho.
When recession comes, companies usually push their employees harder. Guess as your topic suggests, the greatest fear people have is losing their jobs at the current moment.
I'm doing ok trying to get used to things and still trying to expand my internet business opportunities. Going for some networking session soon. If it is good, i will keep u updated and prob we can even meet face to face someday.
heh. hope u have been well!

I dun have much fear in life, and actually i can say, i also greq up thru many fears in life ^_^ When i was young, i was very small sized and timid, introvert and shy, thus i was scared of speaking up, for fear of any little things that can happen to me..
But as i grew up, i start to have responsibility and it was that, which forces me to grow out of my fears in order to get what i want.. I succeeded in the end, and i believe confidence is the key to overcoming one's fears.. Without the courage to even try, means that one is already bowing to fear..
To overcome fear, be it serious or small things, always attempt to look beyond the fear itself.. Instead of thinking about oneself, think about your loved ones instead.. Giving oneself a scenario and giving themselves no choice but to do it.. Always imagine for the worst, but with a positive attitude ^_^
ONce one managed to conquer the biggest fear in them, there wont be anything much to fear anymore for, we have found a new confidence in ourselves ^_^

FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real, more of the state of one's mindI agree that in order to overcome it, one has to actually face it eye to eyeWill conquering one fear lead to another? Again it's perception - if we see it as a challenge instead of fear, one might face it differently, even with a new boldness? Anyway, it's always easier said than done as action speaks louder than words. Everyone have their own set of hurdles or obstacles to go through as it might appear huge to one but just an ant hill to another? Well, what can I say? Happy fear overcoming to everyone? Hahaha

As I sit here reading your interesting discussion, I hear coyotes after a dog right outside my door. It's haunting the sounds they make. I turned on the back flood lights that point towards the trees. My biggest fear right now is that it's still dark and I don't dare go out to my car!
