Some of you have already heard of the site Slicethepie.com for those who have not it is a site where bands get reviewed by you (you are paid for constructive reviews) and top bands can get financed (15.000pounds) by their music fans to record their album. You can finance the band with as little as 1 pund earned from reviewing tracks or by credid card. You can help the band by only listening to 10 tracks and reviewing them and that will give you 1 voucher pound which you can invest. You see first 50 tracks are paid to you as 10 cent vouchers which you must invest. Later on you earn money which you can also invest :) or withdraw to PP. There are a lot of bands to invest in but this discussion is in favour of my favourite Machine OEM, so if you are a rock fan do check them out and give them a hand. Even 1 pund helps!!! (And you will feel good) So what does an investment bring to you? Well if you invest 1 pound you get 2 free tracks, if you invest 2 pounds you get 4... if you invest 5 pounds or more you get a free copy of the digital album and your name on the album sleve (preety cool), but that is not all. If you are outside US you are also entiteled to contracts (1 free contract for every pound invested) which can be later on traded on the exchange market (like a stock market) where the valuse of contracts go up and down depending on news from artists (curenntly the top contract is worth 4+punds so quite a return), or you can hold on to them for two years and after that period they will be exchanged for money depending on album sales over that period of time (1000 albums sold 10 cents per contract - so if a band will sale 100.000 albums each contract you own will be worth 10 punds). You also get to interact with the artists. It is a fun site to hang out, you get to hear loads of new cool music (and crappy one of course) and can get your hands on the slice of music industry.
