Do you take a walk every day or do you usually walk a lot during the day? I work in an office and the chance for me to walk around is less. So now I take a walk everynight in between 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending if I am really tired or not. I think walking is good and gentle for the body. What about you?

I agree with you. Actually everyday I go to work and go home on food for about half an hour. Since I have to stay in the office most of the time and therefore I regard the walking is a kind of exercise for me. I call this is a net profit for me as no transportation fee for me and meanwhile I can be healthier:)
I love China

I walk to the bus station and from the bus station to work which takes me 20 minutes on my way there and 20 minutes when I get back home. So that's 40 minutes of walking for me in one day without having to exercise at work or home.
When I am at work occaisionaly I will go for a walk with a colleague or go to the stores which adds another 30 minutes; this will be on my break.
I try to exercise two times a week, I will do 20 minutes of crosstraining.
All in all it pretty much varies between 40 minutes (when I am very tired) and 90 minutes on a busy day with sports.

i work in an office but i do get a chance to walk through a fro in the office when i need to rest from the computer and with the kind of work we have in an architectural firm, we get to go to the construction site and that is another chance for us to exercise our legs plus the malling every now wnd then to break an ice during work. we are quite flexible at work since my best friend is the proprietor of the firm , we got the perks!

Yes sometimes I am too tired and wouldn't want to take a walk, but I still try to take a 15 minutes one. I know how it's like to be tired and want nothing else but the bed *laughs*.

Hi, I walk soooo much,to work and then at work, I work at a school and constantly on my feet, then I walk home do the shopping, then house work over 3 floors. I live on a lovely island for walking so I walk again to take photos. By the end of the day my feet are throbing. People often ask why i don't drive and i tell them i don't need to i have feet and public transport. They are shocked and can never understand, but I have brought up 2 children and never had a problem getting around, it just dosn't occur to me that I need a car. I think it would make me lazy :)x
Ps it is my fav to walk in the rain x

True, cars make me feel lazy too! I wouldn't want to walk after staying in the car for awhile.

I am trying to make sure I get a half an hour walk every day. I have been thinking about buying a pedometer to encourage myself, but considering that we already have a WiiFit, I should probably use that instead of spending more money.

I used to use my friend's treadmill twice per day, a half hour each time. I would walk during half of my lunch break, and then I would read what I needed to do for work while on there in the evenings. It felt great and I miss it a lot. Ever since I moved out of her place, she hasn't touched the thing . . . I should ask her if I can buy it from her!

hello wondericequeen
i do not get much exercise in the winter months of the year at all. during the Spring and Summer months around here, i go to the local track at least three times a week. by the end of the Summer, i have worked my way up to around ten or eleven times around the track. i think that each lap is a quarter of a mile? so i am like a bear in hiberanation in the Winter time. lol i do not go walking in the cold weather. but i also agree with you that walking is about the best exercise that a person can get.
take care and have a beautiful day today!

As a university student, I walk a lot each day. My classes are spread out at different times during the day. It take me 10 minutes to get to class from my house by walking. I average 3 classes a day so 3x20 = 60 mins. That would probably be my average. Some days it's more, some days it's less.

Walking is indeed good for the body... it is like exercising without us even noticing it... or really getting very tired... since my office is like 10 minutes away from my apartment... i make it a point to walk in the afternoon afterwork... since it is no longer very hot during that time... but in the morning when the weather is still cool... i walk... if not... i take the tricycle... but i still have that 10 minutes walk...

Hello wondericequeen,
Same with me. I seldom walk a lot. I drive to my office and work in the office all the times and there is no reasons at all for me to walk (just an excuse). In fact, I am quite a lazy person. I can walk to my babysitter's house as it is just less than a kilometer from my house but I still drive. I think it is a good exercise but a lazy person like me always has a reason for not walking...

Good for you that you are trying to walk each day.
I love walking. I have had some health problems over the last 3 months and just started feeling better about 2 weeks ago. I started walking on my treadmill again, and it feels great! I'm already up to 40 minutes, but my speed isn't much. I try to walk about 4 times a week, at least. I sometimes take a walk outdoors with my husband, when the weather isn't too hot.

Well since I am in my last year of high school, I have to run/walk to my classes Monday-Friday, and all that walking really adds up. I also have a physical fitness class in the morning that focuses on cardio workouts, so I get my fair share of physical activity.
