Have any one start a new crafting hobby recently?

I recently started a new hobby. I used to do cross-stich and It would take me a year to finsihed a project. Most of my cross-stich on Thomas kincaid landscape. After a while it got a little boring to me. I just bought myself some knitting looms. I was told that it was pretty easy to used and that you can make bacially anything a knitting needle could. Have done loom knitting before? Do you do any of your craft project for charity?

i work on looms but have not tried knitting since i was a kid. i want to start again though because i've totally forgotten how it works. the looms i use are more for making braids or crafts similar to finger-knitting. i did see a very nice loom for making round items like hats, and thought rather than buying one for 30$, that i could call it a craft and make my own! not sure how yet, but i imagine hammering nails into a roughly circular frame might do the trick.

I have never done any knitting. I use to embroidery a long time ago. Recently I have taken up acrylic painting and I love it. Before that I was doing polymer clay crafts which I love too but was getting a little tired of it. I haven't done any for charity or to sell cause I'm not that good. I just do it for fun.
