Should Congress Legalize Marijuana?

Lately there has been much debate about making marijuana a legal substance to adult Americans that suffer with many forms of damaging diseases. There are several European countries where it is legal to smoke marijuana, in fact Sweden and Denmark have coffee houses where patrons can choose from a variety of cannabis plants. Believe it or not, the nations that have legalized pot smoking have little to no crime concerning using this herb. If Congress would make marijuana legal, would it be a detriment or positive in our American society?

I don't want to be surrounded by idiotic potheads when I go up town. It's bad enough I have to dodge skateboarders and other degenerate pukes that can't get a job. Actually I think those skateboarders are potheads. They don't really know how to skateboard. They do more falling down and laughing than actual skateboarding.
Potheads need their mothers to dress them because they leave pizza stains all over their shirts. I think it is a badge of honor for a pothead to leave his munchies on his shirt sleeve.
Please Id rather be surrounded by yuppies snorting coke because at least they dress and are presentable in public.

You seem to only be interested in appearances. Sounds pretty superficial to me.
Coke can kill you. But pot never killed anybody, EVER.
And a pothead won't kill you for your wallet to buy more pot, because he probably grows his own in his backyard. Plus, it just doesn't make you agressive or desperate for your next fix, either, to the point that you will lose your whole life, marriage, house, car, etc...like coke will.
But coke, well, tons of people will kill you for "one more fix" and it is very addictive.
I won't allow anyone who does coke in my life whatsoever. I just can't trust them, not for a minute to rob me blind the minute my back is turned.
And 9 out of 10 pot users are normal looking productive working people just like anyone else.
By the way, I smoke pot, and I own some $500 Ports International Dresses and $150 shirts.
And those skateboarders you mentioned are NOT TYPICAL at all. They are just plain bums. I resent being grouped with them.
