I love in California and we get little earthquakes quite frequently. Recently it's been pretty quiet though. Most of the time you don't notice them and maybe the lights will swing a little bit when you do notice them. The last big earthquake that happened here was '89, but I was an infant and don't recall the experience at all, but my mother told me when she was standing on the sidewalk, the ground was making wave movements. The only eventful earthquake I remember was a 5.0. Nothing fell off the shelves, but the house shook. At first I thought it was some insanely large big rig with a loud engine driving by our house, haha. They usually are really short. By the time you realize it's an earthquake and start thinking about getting underneath a door frame, it's over. We're still waiting for the big one. :(

We're a bit overdue for a large earthquake. Experts says we're just waiting for it to happen, so hmm, kind of scary thinking about it. Last one in 1989 was 7.1, there were parts of CA where the land on the fault line shifted 6ft. It's like the earth jumped and settled back into place. Not so good for us little humans.

Yes, couple of times. In the philippines especially from the town where i came experieces earthquake lot of times. Its because our town is situated within the fault line and we have some active volcanoes nearby. The last time i experienced it was last december here in denmark. I heard from danish people before that they dont have earthquakes. So i thought i was just dreaming or had a low blood when i felt that our bed was shaking. The next day i read the news of the so talked earthquake all over denmark.

Where I live we don't have them frequently - only a couple in my lifetime. They were very minor, minimal damage, nobody really hurt. So it was kinda fun watching the furniture and stuff jump around a bit, feel the rumble. I know we were lucky and it could be a lot worse. What was scarier to me was sitting it out through a hurricane. We knew that was coming, just not how bad it would be.
