I just joined the site and want to know my fellow horse owners. What kinds of horses do you own? How many? Ages? Names? What discipline do you ride?
I have 4 horses right now.
Apple: 12yr old Arab/App. All around great horse. I take him to clinics to help teach other riders.
Desi: 8yr old QH. Just got her, she is in training to be my next clinic horse.
Hope: 5yr old pony mare. She is here as a resale project and will make a lovely hunter pony for a kid!
Frosty: 8yr old AQHA cutting bred mare. This mare will be sold soon to a show home. She can work a cow!!!

I own a 31 year old grey gelding named Major. I've had him for 26 and a half years! I used to ride him hunt seat, mostly on trails. I have not ridden him in a few years because he has health issues! Major has a heart mur mur and has battled lamuntitis twice in the last 3 years! He's enjoying retirement! He's like a big pet now!

That is great. What breed? Do you have pictures you can share? Sounds like he has had a good life. I hope he doesn't have anymore laminitis problems.

Ihave never owned a horse, but I rode from 5th grade until I was out of college. I even taught for a while.
I can't say I was ever a great rider, but I sure knew what was right and wrong, and just didn't have good timing for jumping and because of a defect in my ankles couldn't do great conformation.

Name: Piper's Cresent (Piper)
Breed: New Forrest/Paint Cross
Color: Dark Bay (Almost Black)
Markings: Cresent moon on forehead (hence name); one white sock
Age: 5
Height: 14.2hh
Discipline: Hunter/Jumper; Eventing
He is amazing! He is only five years old, but he already bends and goes on the bit extremely well. He will jump anything I point him torward, and he loves it! He's very brave and he's fantastic at shows and events. I'm very excited for the spring show season!
