I did not watch the superbowl but I heard on the news last night that during half time Denny's announced that they will be giving away free food from 6am until 2:30pm today so I was just wondering if anyone participate or know someone who did, I didn't go nor do I know anyone who did.

You have a beautiful afternoon as well. I have a Denny's not that far from me but I have never been and probably never will. I would not have gone for free breakfast either because to many people would have gone and it would have been to chaotic for free food.

Yeah, me and my wife went. I loved their Grand Slam eggs--the cheesiest eggs I've tasted in a minute. I also liked their sausages and bacon. The pancakes were kind of a disappointment, however. Something was missing.
Unless I am mistaken, I think they did it to promote their new pancake puppies. Off the chain, folks.
In Michigan it was 5 above when I woke up this morning to go. I had heard from one of the local bus drivers that there was a two-hour wait. I had started to turn back. My wife, needless to say, would have been massively disappointed had I made that decision, since we were already on the bus.
But it was not a long wait. The manager there was gracious. He rewarded the people who were waiting out in the bitter cold with a sample--in fact, a couple of these pancake "puppies"--simply breaded little blobs of pancake with cinnamon sugar on them. My wife says they could have used a bit more syrup on them. But they are a real winner. They are rich however. Don't eat too many of them as they might make you sick.
The line, however, was shorter than we had expected. We were seated not too long after we reached the door. But it did take awhile for them to wait on us.
The meal, as I said, was OK. It was worth the wait out in the cold--but the pancakes could have used a bit more work.
