I just discovered yesterday that I have gray hair. I just pull it off my head this morning. I don't know how I got it but I think I am too young to have many of them. I only saw one gray hair but I guess the number will increase as it started growing already. Hoping it won't. My father had them during his thirties. My mother also so I'm expecting they will only come out on my thirties.
Do you have gray hair?
What do you think is the average age when people start having them?

I would also do the same when many gray hair grow on my head already. I'm expecting to see them in my thirties. Maybe the one I pulled off my head is not the start of having many of them.

I have some gray but I'm over 50 so it's no big deal. When you start going gray is genetic but, in general, people start seeing gray hairs in their 40's & 50's. My husband's beard turned gray in his 30's but he didn't start getting gray hair on his head until he was in his 40's.

I find that one hilarious. His beard had gray hairs first before on the ones on his head. Thanks. That gives me hope to not have them yet. It's no big deal having gray hair. I just can't believe that at my age, I will have many of them. I'm thankful I only had one yet.

For sure having many gray hair at an early age is just a rare case. I have seen high school students having them already. I have relatives with gray hair but not all of them. On my mother side, only a few adult have them.

I dont think there is an average age for grey hair. I think different life experiences and situations can trigger this and some people are just naturally greyer younger. My friend had grey hair since she was in her early 20s and there were strips of it that were very prominent..
I personally have a band of grey hair in the front so i just part my hair over a bit and it cant be seen. There is none anywhere else. My hubby started turning grey in his 30s as are many of my other friends. I know I always beleived when i was younger that it was a sign of aging and only older people got grey hair. NOt so at all.

I have a friend who's 19 and he already has grey hair! I guess it doesn't have to do with your age, maybe it's genetic. Besides, I find it very sexy, especially on men.

Hello there!
I believe that the average age for having noticeable gray hair is on the fourties. Thirty is still a young age to have a large amount of gray hair. Usually, though, you will notice a lot of them in a 40 year old, 42, 45...
However, it depends on the origin of the person. Some will have a stronger hair, that will take a long time to get gray. Others, though, will have it really soon, like at 30.
I am way young to have gray hair. I'm 17. Though I have seen people at my age with one or two gray hair in the head.
I don't think they will start growing on you right now. It will be like one here, one there... Then it will start growing more oftenly.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

I hope this is not the start. I already had two appearing at different times. It seems like it grows on the same place. It's been months now since it grew at that part of my head and I am not seeing it growing there lately.

I have an uncle who is almost bald already. I guess I won't go bald since my hair is think right now. But I'm not sure with it. I'm expecting gray hair in my thirties. I am too young to have many of them right now.

I have gray hair when I was 32 and I was really horrified!I was really surprised because it never runs in our family having gray hair in such a young age. My mother got her gray hair when she was 50 years old and now she's 63, my father has gray hair when he was over 60 years old. That's why I was shocked when i saw my precious hair with visible silver hair.
At first I panicked and researched the net what causes gray hair to reveal at such a young age, I read a medical article that one of the causes is lacked of zinc, so now I tried eating foods rich in zinc, then if we worry or think too much. I try to minimize the worrying portion, but sometimes it is unavoidable especially if you are 35 and still single.lol!

I think having gray hair on your age is normal. But you may look older because of that.
Right now I already had two gray hair which I plucked out off my head. It seems like they grow on the same part of my head.
We better eat food rich in Zinc and not worry too much. Stress at work is unavoidable and I use singing to reduce stress. Almost every time I go home from work, I sing out songs in my apartment and it helps :)

Yes i have grey hair.I started having them at the age of 25.Now i have a lot of them.I use henna to dye my hair and it also acts as a conditioner.
I think on an average people start having grey hair in their thirties.

That's also the age I was thinking. Just have to reassure that it is also true to other people.
Dye is really helpful for those with gray hair. I'll be using it when most of my hair become gray. But still, I hope I'll only have some or nothing at all in the future.

I don't know about average age, but I starting seeing the occasional gray hair when I was about 25. My mom says she started noticing gray hairs when she was 27. One of my best friends in college had a few when she was 20. I once heard that pulling them out only makes more grow, but I have no idea if that's true. I don't really see how it could be, but I've always remembered that.

I hope the one I pulled off my head won't trigger more gray hair. I also observed that people start having them on their late twenties. But I expect them when I reach thirty years and above.

I think I found my first grey hair when I was about 29, but I didn't get many more until I was about 40. Then they increased dramatically. I don't mind though - they're all part of me and I'm quite happy going grey.

That's good - letting the natural color of your hair appear as it is. But for me, I will only allow my gray hair be seen when I'm already in my thirties/forties. I won't be letting them appear at my current age.

I'm expecting to have them on that age too. Until now, I only had one gray hair and I pulled it off my head already. It is easily seen since it is located near my forehead.

I found my first "silver" hair at age 25, same as my mom :) I promptly pulled it out, of course.....but then they began to multiply. I'm in my mid-forties now, and its slowed down a bit; It's only a matter of time before the process kicks into over-drive
My guess? It's probably a combination of stress and genetics

I'm also thinking about it. Maybe genetics can make us to have gray hair while stress may speed up the appearing of gray hair.

I am in my mid fifties, and I have lots of gray hair. My daughter started getting them in her twenties, and she has a few. My grandfather on my mother's side was completely white haired by thirty. I do not think there is an average age, but it varies with diet, health, and stress among other things.

You have a point. Different factors contribute in having gray hair. I'll add the factor of genetics. I guess it is also inherited. It will be good to observe or ask our parents on their gray hair. :)

I've got quite a few gray hairs. They don't bother me that much though. I do color my hair from time to time. Not because of the gray, just because I don't like my natural mousey color. Gray hairs aren't just for older people you know. I once had a classmate that started going gray in high school. By the time she was in her late 20s her hair was completely silver.

That was so unlucky. I can't imagine having all my hair gray at an early age. Anyway, we can do nothing to control it. Just have something to hide it. I would also dye my hair when gray hair start covering my scalp.

Hey wrangel! I wouldn't worry about it! I don't think I really
started having grey hair until I was in my forties! I was
pretty lucky! I had never even dyed my hair until then! Not
even once! When they really started coming out and I wasn't
about to pull them all out I decided it was time to start
dying! So don't worry about it so much! People can have grey
hair at any age! It varies from person to person!

I'm thinking to dye when many gray hair start to grow. It's no big problem with me. It seems they will grow if it is their time already. :) We can't control having them anyway.

Hello, I had 1 gray hair and I pulled it out then I ended up with 2 more in it's place. Then I found anothe gray hair and pulled it out and also 2 more grew in its place so now I do not pull out any gray hair I see. It seems like the more it gets pulled out the more gray hair will grow. I am 44. My b/f is 30 and he has a few more gray hairs than me but he has less than 10 and I have 5.He has black hair and I have dark brown, when I see one of his gray hairs I hide it in the rest of his hair and he does the same for me too.My grand mother didn't start going gray until she was in her 60's. I have a secret to hide gray hairs, a little at least. If you have dark hair use dark brown mascara to cover it up.

I hope no gray hair will replace the one I just pulled off my head. I pulled it off because I can't hide it in the first place. It was located at the front and it's good I easily saw it in the mirror.

Stress (like in school) may really be one of the reasons of getting gray hair. I know someone who have similar problem. She gets bald on a small part of her hair when she's stressed. She's lucky she's not experiencing it now and maybe had coped up with stress already.

I found my first gray hair when I was 31. I've been coloring my hair ever since. (I am now 53). So, I do not know how gray I actually am now. However, just from seeing my roots between colorings, I think I have a LOT of gray now. My father didn't have hair at all, so I guess gray hair is not so bad..... :)

Yes, you're right. Gray hair is not so bad since we have remedy for it. Dyeing is a good idea. It is just awful to think that you will look older from your age because of gray hair.
