Have you ever eaten ketchup from one of those tiny little packets and realized. . .ketchup tastes better when I eat it from here. Like when you pour ketchup in your mouth directly from a plastic bottle, it doesn't taste exactly the same as if you ate it from a tiny packet. It just tastes better. I don't know if its the texture of the packaging touching the roof on my mouth, or what but ketchup packets are awesome.

First off, im not sure why this conversation is in panda spanking, lol. But seems like a good place for it anyways.
But I also have the same feeling sometimes, even though I have never directly put the package in my mouth and squeezed. I have put it directly from the package on the french fry and it just seemed to taste so much better that way, than having to dip the fry in a puddle of red. Maybe it is because we don't actually see the ketchup before we eat?

It's as good a place to put this discussion as any I reckon! Eating ketchup from a packet is NOT a normal thing to do and neither is panda spanking! Now if you not only ATE the ketchup, but then used all the empty packets to make a suit and then wore it to the Opera..... It would have been TEXTBOOK Panda Spanking! lol.

LOL James nice answer. But its a very normal thing for me to do ^^. When I'm on the go, I eat my fries, squirt some ketchup via packet in my mouth, keep walking, because if I don't eat at the restaurant and I have to walk home, I usually can't wait because I'm already hungry and ketchup packets just make it super convenient.

lol. No I've never eaten ketchup (we call it tomato sauce in my country) straight from the packet and I don't think I wish to try either! Maybe it tastes better with the small packets 'cos the flavours more concentrated ro something? Anyways, rather than eat packets of ketchup, it can be a lot of fun to put them on a hard floor and then jump on 'em! They make a great popping sound and crap flies everywhere! lol.

I think sometime I have eaten from sachets already. It tastes really good. I always eat ketchup on its own. Sometimes too much for my food. I love ketchup and I can eat it on its own.

lol maybe the packaging contributes to the taste even though for health reasons I hope not because maybe the packaging could be contributting some unhealthy components to the ketchup mix .That said though my experience is quite different from you and I find that ketchup doesnt taste as good ..In fact I normally find the constitution of those packets more watery and eventually less pallatable

I don't know where you get your ketchup packets, but the Heinz ketchup packets taste better than the bottled ketchups! I have a cousin that would eat ketchup packets from theme parks when he finished eating his burger because food at theme parks are expensive but ketchup is free! In comparison, generic brand "Fancy Ketchup" they serve at school cafeterias don't taste as good, maybe because of the packaging, different material. xD

Yes, I have kind of noticed that. I don't know why either, but it does taste better out of a packet. Maybe because there is only a little in each packet and since they are individually wrapped the ketchup stays fresher. Even when I am ordering food from McDonalds to take home and eat I always ask for ketchup even though I have big bottle at home. So I can sure relate to what you are saying.
