Are Homosexuals Born or Made?

Ok I know I'm probably opening a big can of hot worms...(no pun intended)
But I guess that's what mylot is all about huh?
I've heard a lot of discussions from both sides of this coin and I would
really like to get some insight into this. Some people say, they're born
that way because it no one would consciously choose to be homosexual when
it's so unpopular or because they're so mistreated in today's society, but
I beg to differ on that. Nowdays a lot of people think it's "cool" to be
gay. And if that was the case, that would also apply to Christians or anyone
else who chooses a certain way of life. Christians and other religions have
been persecuted for centuries and a lot of people still choose to worship.
I believe the only thing that we really have no choice about is the color of
our skin or who our parents are, and everything we do in our lives after we're
old enough to live our own lives is by choice.
If being gay is not a choice and people are actually born that way, then are their
genes different? Is there something different in the makeup of their brains or is it hormonal? Have they done any studies on this?
If it's not a physical difference, then it has to be emotional or mental and thus
it is a choice and not something we're born with or without.
Can you prove me wrong on this?

there have been studies where they found that the brain of sheep that displayed homosexual behaviours was physically different to the brain of ones that didn't.
I believe that no one can help who they are attracted to. and that sexuality is not a strict one or the other. it's a sliding scale. some of us are closer to one end, some to the other, and some more in between.
