I think its Windows XP rather than Vista, linux or any others. I have not tried any of these operating systems but from my friends I have concluded that Xp is the best suited to my computer. What do you think? Happy mylotting

i think XP is best operating system because it is stable and it is compactable even with low configuration machine. i have tried vista and linux i find linux is better than xp because we will get linux for free but we have to but XP and other operating systems. I hope linux is going to take over the trend of operating system.

Yes, for personal use, even I think Windows XP is far better than Vista (as it works nicely even on lower configuration also), linux or other operating systems. One more benefit is that we can easily get 3rd party softwares that can be used with windows, which is not the case with other OS. But when we see corporate world, we will observe that Linux is preferred more due to its Security and Networking features. Also, different Operating Systems are used for different peculiar tasks, like Embedded OS for embedded systems, Real Time OS for Real time systems and so on. But for PC, I think Windows XP is good to work with!

Both xp and Vista are the best in quality. But in terms of security, xp is at the back because since it is very popular it gets a lot of attacks from the internet marauders. Vista had a lot of compatability issues and many bugs that made it unpopular when it was released. I don't know what is it's state now. Also from my experience the phenomenon of Firefox or IE getting stuck in between is not theproblem of these softwares, but the problem of xp. If you are think of other OSes Linux can't promise us that it will evolve into a single unified operating system. Also, we don't know whether it is going to survive in the long run. Also, all the softwares that are being released now are not compatable with both Mac and Linux. This problem come into the fore when we want toplay games. So any of the Microsoft OS will be good for the time being. If you can wait for some time, you can think of the Windows 7 which is scheduled to be released on July this year. But don't buy it until the initial reports come in. You must have a RAM of 1GB to run it.

i use both, xp and vista. both of them are good but vista takes high configuration on your pc, means to says if you wanna fast speed with vista use minimum 1gb ram. other side xp give a good speed in 256mb ram. xp is much faster than vista. vista gives better graphics than xp. but i prefer for speed so i suggest you to use xp. but if you want a gaming pc with high configuration use vista. have a nice day.
