Discussing politics is probably only topic I don't want to talk about with people because it always turns in hot discussions. It's OK if you are two speakers and are swapping with your thoughts, but be ware to open this subject in a company of your friends or other people you are together with... the evening will never end! And neither you will get to a result of the topic's questions.

Just do me a favor. TURN OFF THE TV and get away from the "matrix", the mainstream, the MEDIA!!! Republicans and Democrats are the same!
Obama has no power. Same as Bush. Both are one in the same. Both are puppets. The Elite men behind the curtain run this country. "Illuminati". Research it! Investigate all leads. Have some critical thinking. Don't trust our leaders, the media, etc.. We've all been fooled. Our country is being ran by CRIMINALS! EVIL.
Don't let WW3 happen to bring upon New World Order. Only solution from slavery and dictatorship is to: abolish the federal reserve. Remember - America is NOT a democracy, we're a Republic. Which is backed by the Constitution. Our founders hated a democracy. Take action and spread the word now before America goes bye bye - WW3 & Great Depression - all engineered by the bankers who run our country - who also staged WW1, WW2, 9/11 and War on Terror, etc.. - 80% of Americans to die. The Answer to 1984 is 1776!! Wake Up!

I tend to feel a bit uneasy with the topic of politics, at least in real life--on here I tend to be more outspoken. I do have strong opinions, and I don't change my mind easily, and when I have it's been only after really thinking about things. I have two kinds of political opinions, there is the way I feel about an issue or topic when I am thinking with my emotions, that is when I tend to be a little more unreasonable and unwilling to see other opinions very easily. Then there is logical, more organized responses, and that is something I have really grown into--I still do think from an emotional level at times, but for the most part I think of any issue from a logical, thoughtful level. For the most part though, in real life, I don't bring up politics unless I know where the other person stands, and if I know that they are extremely opposite of me I don't bring it up unless they do.
Although, to be completely honest, these days I am truly moderate in my thinking, I have learned to listen to both sides, and pick apart the things I agree with or don't agree with. Although, I have become more intolerant of extreme views, not to say I would get in a fight over it, just meaning that extreme acts of politics on either end of the spectrum, tend to irritate me, since I have seen that 2 extremists screaming at each other does not solve any problem.
So I do wish that politics was something that could be openly discussed without creating enemies, but I remain cautious. Although, I am considering going back to college--possibly to study Political Science, so I suspect if I do, I would become more comfortable and in control of the discussion of politics. I think more people should speak up, but it's not realistic in everyday life, because there will always be people that become very unreasonable if they don't agree with you.

If it's with another single peron known well enough then i would not mind discussing it. When it's with another group of people, i tend to avoid getting dragged into the discussion simply for the reason that it invariably lands up into an argument.

I grew up in one of the very few Democratic families in a Republican town and our house was a hub of political debate every election season. When I moved back to my home town, I found that the entire town had changed demographics and switched parties. The area was now almost 100% Democrat. This meant there was no longer any debate and I missed it.
So, I've found political debate again on Mylot. I don't mind arguing politics and I don't mind just throwing in one's two cents and walking away. But I do mind that people seem to feel that it's okay to trash someone's star rating because they can't stand that person's politics. That's dirty politics!
