Grandchildren?

Does any mother here that has a young child ever look forward to becoming a grand mother someday? The way that I see it I kind of look forward to it. I have a five year old son right now but I know the time is fleeting and he will someday leave the nest and have children himself. I know that I will love his children as much as I love him.

My son is 20 and his girlfriend 21 and she is pregnant right now. So this summer I am going to be a grandma! I was not thrilled with the thought of it in the beginning~ I am not old enough to be a grandma. But now that it has sunk in I am really excited. Now I can spoil the baby and send him home when he gets ornary.

I look forward to that moment! My son, who is 6, likes talking about his future, and the other day he promised he would have 16 children :o))

I don't have young kids and I am a grandmother but yes when my son was little I wondered who he would marry and what kind of life he would have and yes I thought about being a grandmother. I think it is something that most mothers think about.

My eldest son became a father when he was 16. Of course they have different challenges than having a child when older, but being a grandparent has been great.

I do think about it sometimes. My kids are 9 and 2 though, so it better be a LONG while before I become a grandmother. My son's father became a father for the first time when he was 15. I don't want my son taking the same path.

I look forward to having grandchildren but my boys are only 20 and 21 so I'm willing to wait 5-10 years until it's the best time for them to have children. I hope I'm still active when my grandchildren are born!

I just don't want my baby to grow up. I guess its one thing you have to look forward to when they grow up is knowing there will be lots of grandchildren one could only hope.LOL!
