Why is it whenever I'm in a rush or trying to get things done, the internet decides to have a go slow?? Is it because it is actually slow and pages take forever to load or is it just because I'm in a rush?? I do have a high speed broadband connection!!

Try to test your internet speed through this link www.speedtest.net, do the test in the morning, afternoon, evening and midnight. Compare the results, is always same, if not, then use the fastest time for the things that really need speed. Try to use ping when using the internet, internet connection may become slow if too long idle.

exactly how much RAM do you have? RAM (for the most part, anyway) determines how "fast" your computer can go, so if you dont have alot of RAM, and you are trying to go faster than usual, it might SEEM like it is going slower, but really, its going at normal speed, you just arent looking at web pages as long.

It could be various items ranging from but not limited to : harddrive disfunction, virus/trojan, a lot of video, cpu usage is on 100%, low memory, those are only at the foremost of my mind why.

Thanks for the response I think it's probaly just me being me and its just not quick enough as trying to do 50 million things at once. Although the school closure site is really slow but that may just be due to high levels of traffic due to pending bad weather overnight.

If you open so many internet websites together, the pages are very likely to load slow because they share the band-width of your internet connection. There is another problem your PC is likely to have been suffering from: If your PC has a little RAM (not enough for your programs to run fast enough) and your Disk drive (HDD) is very old and not in very good health, it might be causing your applications, etc to run slow. It is because when RAM gets full with data , the data then is written to the hard disk and is read from there too very frequently; becasue hard disk is not good and is slow, it will read and write data very slow, causing your applications to run slow. If your hard disk is OK but only RAM is little or CPU is not fast enough, that could also be a cause for your programs to run slow. For a quick improvement, only open one or two applications or internet browsers at a time.
