Smoke 'em if you got 'em, folks!

Obama's signing a bill to raise taxes on cigarettes to fund children's health insurance. Gee, what if you can't afford to buy cigarettes, even the crummy ones? But oh, wait! There's money for smoking cessation in the stimulus bill. Guess that children's health insurance won't get much money off this cigarette tax, will it? This new change is insane!!

A lot of our past presidnets (and first ladies) were or are smokers.
But as for Obama I have heard to quite.

This does not mean health insurance for ALL children - it is health insurance for the children of lower-income families (whatever that number might be) and I believe also includes coverage for the children of illegal aliens.

This is super schipp bill, which means it will cover children of people who make 65 thousand dollars and up.

I think it's good. It provides another incentive for smokers to quit. Also provides another source of cash flow to the Federal government in these hard times.
