Do you shop with coupons

Do you ever use coupons? I never do because I never find any for the types of food that I'm buying at the time.
The reason that I'm asking this is because I was watching Opra yesterday and they had a woman go shopping using her coupons. When she got done shopping she had over a hundred dollars worth of items. After they took off for the coupons her totals was thirty something. They said she saved 71% in her amount by using her coupons and the store discounts.
This makes me feel like trying it out for myself sometime, just to see how much I might be able to save.

I have just started using coupons. With the economy the way it is, you can probably save a lot of money using them. I'd suggest, not only checking your Sunday paper for coupons, but also joining a site, like cool savings. Generally, you can make selections as to what types of products you buy and the types of coupons you want. I look at it this way. If I go to the store and buy $100 worth of items and I have, say, 30 coupons all for an average of 30% off (items I normally buy anyway), I'm basically saving 30% of what I would normally spend. I don't go for the higher priced items that I wouldn't buy without the coupons, though. Some of the economy sized items and no-name brand items are cheaper than the name brands, even if you do have a coupon for the name brand. So I take my time shopping, compare prices, sizes of the bottle, can, package, etc. and choose what's best for me. :-)

I did along time ago. The way everything is going now I'm trying to start back. Its so bad around here I can't even buy the newspaper on Sunday. Coupons helps out alot especially cleaning supplies. I got some coupons on my desk I guess I'll clip them tonight. Just to see how much I save the next time.

One of the tips that the woman on the show gave was about buying Sunday newspapers, she said she buys about 3 of them at a time. I like you I can't afford to buy them right now. I bought a paper one time just for the coupons and the coupons wasn't even in the paper.

You should totally use coupons. Me and my wife use coupons all the time because of our kids formula. They send you $5.00 to $7.00 dollar off coupons all the time from Toys R' Us. I mean seriously you know how much that's saving over the year. For a while it was a can a week! So i bet it saves you $300-$400 a year the first couple years your kid is born. Think about what you could do with three hundo if you just used coupons. It's something to consider. Think about it. Good luck.

Where can I go to get these coupons for the baby formula? I would like to know so that I can let my son know, if he can save on formula I know he'd be happy. Do they have coupons for baby food to?

I use them if I catch them in the paper, but I don't hunt for them. I know there are some sites on the web that are full of coupons but I don't go hunting on them. If I already have the coupon I will use it. As for the sales at the stores - all the time. I try not to buy clothes at normal prices - clearances are the best!

I use coupons everytime i go grocery shopping. I use the ones from the Sunday paper, and also the ones i print online. I have used so many coupons at once that Wal*Mart said that i had exceeded their coupon limit. I don't cut out all the coupons, just the ones i am most likely to use. I have saved over $50 on one grocery trip, using my coupons. I get the laundry coupons, most of the food coupons, and some snack type coupons. If you know you will not use it, you can clip it and try to trade with someone who will for something you will use. Every little bit helps out especially when the groceries are getting higher by the day.

This is interesting I didn't know that stores had a limit on coupons. Did WalMarts tell you how many that you could turn in? Thanks for the tips I'll try to remember them.

No just went to a different Wal*Mart and they told me they have no limit on their coupons and as long as the computer will scan them they will take them, whether they are printed from the computer or out of the Sunday paper. Also you can contact some of the companies and they will send you coupons for cents off their products and sometimes they will even send you a coupon for a free item of theirs. Also if you get something you don't like you can contact the company and they would probably send you some coupons for you to try something different they offer. Also if you shop at Wal*Mart, use local sale papers to find good deals on items and have Wal*Mart match the price. You can go in with the intention of spending $150 for groceries and come out with $200 worth of food.

Yes, we shop with coupons. We take advantage of them, it's a good way to save. There have been many times we've looked at the bottom of our reciept and we've saved 10 to 15 dollars with coupons, and then add that to the savers cards the stores give out, it can be 25 to 30 dollars, sometimes more. It's well looking into. We buy the sunday paper, and i cut out the ones I know I will use, keep them on me all the time, because if your in the store and something is on sale you may need later (that won't spoil), I buy it... for one it's already on sale, then adding a coupon only adds to the amount i'm saving.
I also have signed up for couponsurfer.com to print from there. Some stores even double coupons on certain days where I live...

That sounds good, I think I'm going to try this. Can you only use one coupon on an item or will they sometimes let you use more then one. Is that site free to join?

Most of the time it depends on the stores. Our local Food Lion store will take double coupons alot of the time. When I check out, I make sure I put all the items that I got coupons for at the end of the line so when it comes time to scan the, i can watch to see if they scanned or not, and if for some reason one dont scan it's in the last couple of bags and i just show that i've bought it and she punches it in...
with the couponsurfer, yes its' free to sign up, they have a list of many stores they offer coupons with online stores as well. They also have a ton of brands they offer extra coupons for.

about a week ago i went shopping at safeway I bought ocean spray cranberry juice. (different flavors. It was on sale for 99 cents if you buy five. I had 10 coupons for 55cents each. I was able to double four of them. So I gave half my coupons to my son. he was able to double four coupons. So basically I ended up with 10 things of ocean spray and it only cost me 90cents. total. So yes i use coupons and yes I do have a coupon box. If you use coupons you cant be brand loyal. You buy the things you would eat or use but dont be so picky about brands. You can find a coupon for about anything you want or need. If you would like to get into couponing IM me and ill give you a great site to help you.

I try to do so - I also try to shop things when they are marked down - some times suger is cheeper - than I buy a couple of bags - even if I'm not out of it yet - I guess it saves me a bit of money that way.
I wish there were more coupons - they don't have them much here in Sweden - it's almost never even $1 cheeper to buy with a coupon.

A dollar saved is a dollar earned... you save alot using coupons... once.. there was a sale for stayfree pads for $2.49 each.. and i had a few coupons for $2.50.. and i got them for free.. their original price was like $6.00 something... so i had my supply for a few months by paying nothing.... so even a few dollars a month becomes a lot of money in a few months.. so use coupons and save...... cheers..

i have recently gotten into using coupons in the last few months - i make sure not to buy things i don't need, just because i have a coupon, but rather make sure i'm getting a deal on what i actually need to buy.
that's amazing what you saw on oprah - i wish my savings were that big!

I used to always shop with coupons that I would find in the Sunday paper. But it seems that that there are less and less coupons available to use. It's actually kind of frustrating. I did an online search for coupon sites and found a couple that tried to make me go through tons of pop ups to try and get to the coupons. It was very frustrating. I would love ti if i could find coupons for the things i use on a regular basis.

I use coupons as much as possible. Depends on the offers in the coupons, they can save money. Although the saving is not much, it is worth if you calculate the savings on monthly basis.

Last Christmas, we were given coupons and I know I can use at the malls. But I asked my mom to take it and give me cash instead. I do not prefer coupons. You would have to look for a thing that is exactly the amount of your coupon.

Better to purchase with this type of card. Anyway we have to purchase our home needs. This type of cards will be helpful to save our monthly expenses. I just started to use this type of card. This type of cards are very very helpful in the current situtation to save money.
