Waxy Temptations

Is it just me or are there more and more naughty "foody" candle scents available these days?
I was given a chocolate one that smells so much like a really rich, quality dark chocolate dessert that it's making my partner and I salivate!
I was also given a very realistic smelling gingerbread one and a vanilla cupcake Yankee candle that is dangerously delicious smelling. My partner says I'm not allowed to burn them when he's about because it makes him want to eat them too much!

I have been making my own for a couple of weeks now. So far, I have only made French Vanilla, Cinnamon and last night I made Monkey Farts. Monkey Farts is banannas with bubble gum mixed in. Its kinda fun scent. I haven't burned it yet, though.
I have a chocolate hazelnut candle that I love. I kind of burn it every now and then. The company that made it, went out of business and I don't want to run out of it.
I have also tried baked apple pie and have to say that is one of my favorites. But the nice thing about the food scents, you can smell it when you are craving. Then you can go eat something healthy instead. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself.

That's really great that you make your own. How did you learn to do that? I like the Monkey Farts idea!

LOL I bought a Chocolate Chip Cookies one for my brother for Christmas and he says it's a love/hate relationship...he loves the smell of it but it makes him hungry. I like the Vanilla, the Apple Pie and the Gingerbread ones...those are the only ones I've tried.

Hi Phaedra,
Oh Yummy!! Have you been around the Blueberry Cheesecake. It is awesome too!! Isn't it amazing how many scents are designed from food smells? I've noticed that too. This does not really help someone that is trying to lose weight. It is tempting enough to eat.
The coffee one smells so rich and pleasant, it's like a fresh pot of coffee being brewed. There are so many different scents used for candles, it is hard to find something you could handle all day.
Personally, I prefer the fresh, clean smelling ones. Even vanilla can be overwhelming sometimes.
Have a nice day..

That sounds gorgeous. I love blueberries and the coffee one too. I love BPAL perfumes and occasionally, they have "foodie" scents. I like their gingerbread one and the sugar cookie one. I've had comments on them when I've been wearing them.
They can be overwhelming sometimes though, you really have to be in the mood for them.

No, it isn't you. They are making more and more scented candles that smell like
heavenly foods. It is working for them because everyone seems to like them. I know what
you mean about some of them smelling so much like the real thing it makes me hungry.
They say that the smell of certain foods, like chocolate, makes our brains produce more
good feel hormones so I guess that is why the candle companies are making more and
more scented candles that smell like food, not just flowery anymore.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I never thought about the hormones thing before. I'm sure that's true. Chocolate has some great seratonin boosting qualities. I definitely prefer them to overpowering flowery scents any day.

Candle scents are very much in today.
Incorporating the scents in to a candle
is a very clever and great idea. I don't like
candles with food scents for obvious reason.
I like candles that smell like perfumes.
