my son will be 3 in april. im tring to get all my ideas togather. so far i have none! his first year we did thomas the tank engine, and last year we did blues clues. it was simple and we had it here at the house. we let the kids play outside and had cake and icecream. i see that some parents have really neat parties where they plan activities for the kids. i call those pta parents. ha. no offence anyone. i just dont think i can do it im not all that creative when it comes to party planning for a toddler. any help and advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have no party ideas for the family but I would really like the 5 of us (Brad, you,James, Ethan, and Me) to hit up chuckie cheese! I love that place and James wont take me. Just an idea for us to get out and do something with him. I can even go in the tunnels with him! Oh, yeah!

I've only ever done one themed party, and it was cool, but it was also a huge headache. When my oldest turned 6 I did a spiderman themed party. Hubby and I spent hours taking black streamers and taping them on the ceiling in the form of a web. I have pics somewhere but not on the puter. We had a spiderman pinata in the middle of the web. The games we played all had to do with Spiderman too, we did a spiderman bingo which I printed on the puter. I used pictures of spiders, webs, and characters from the movie. We also played this game where you take kite string and string it all over the house, and at the end is a prize. With all the strings going all around the house it looks like a web, and the kids have to follow their string to find their prize. That could have gone better because most of the kids found their prize without following the strings, and the strings did get tangled and stuff.

You might contact one or more of the local fire departments and see if the kids can come to see the firetrucks. The kids love those big trucks and would like sitting inside one. The only risk you run is if there is an emergency. I would suggest one of the bigger departments that has more than one truck and one ambulance. A little boy in our area was recently given an award for saving his family from a fire in their house. He told his parents not to go back inside the house. Dad forgot his wallet and the son told him to stay out of the burning house. Probably saved his life. Would also be a good learning experience for a group of 3 yr. old kids. Start with a firefighter theme at home and continue it on to the fire department. Might be alot of fun to see how the firefighters live while on duty. We have a daughter and son-in-law who are both paramedics/firefighters. I've toured our daughter's firestation and it's amazing. She even snuck me upstairs to see the sleeping quarters. I was curious since she is the only female. Her male co-workers are very respectful and protective of her which always makes me feel a bit more comfortable.
