The D1ck Is Back Bringing Fright and Fear!

Usually members of the preceding Administration lay low for at least a short while, giving the new President and Administration a bit of a "honeymoon" period before they begin to publicly criticize and attack. I guess we should have known this wouldn't be the case with the D1ck Cheney, shouldn't we? After all, he IS a d1ck...lol! Anyway, it's hard to tell his interview yesterday from things he said in 2004...you remember, when he said we'd only remain safe if we voted to reelect him and Bush? That was fear-mongering at its best, or worst, whichever you prefer. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/18390.html Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years. "When we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to do anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry," Cheney said. He also said, "The United States needs to be not so much loved as it needs to be respected. Sometimes, that requires us to take actions that generate controversy. I’m not at all sure that that’s what the Obama administration believes." It's clear the D1ck believes the torture techniques used by the previous Administration as well as the Iraq War and the Patriot Act are what have kept us from being attacked since 2001. He doesn't mention that the first World Trade Center attack came shortly after Clinton took office and the second one didn't come until eight years later DESPITE the fact Clinton didn't take us to war, violate our Constitutional rights or torture people! Do Darth's...I mean Cheney's words scare you? Annie

I do not think we need any more doom and gloom predictions of what might be. We are already in the middle of enough trouble here in our wonderful country. I think Cheney himself is dangerous especially when he can shoot a friend by mistake.

I agree with all you've said. Cheney is not only dangerous he is dangerously arrogant in a way I don't think I've ever seen before. I was so glad he was GONE but didn't he have to go and come back already...lol! I was hoping the next time I'd see him on TV would be when he was being indicted for something. Annie

Well Joe Biden said something similar. To tell you the truth.....they are the ones that got security briefings everyday for four years....not us. SO they kinda know more of what our threats are than we do. Who knows. I do think that if Al Quada can hit us again they will. But I do think Obama will take all threats seriously and do his best to stop them from happening. But no one is perfect. After all 9/11 did happen. The UK has been hit more than once. They say we have hundreds of "sleeper cells" already here in this country....so it could happen again. I hope it doesn't. But the terrorist are determined to kill us. So hopefully Obama and our government are just as determined to stop them. From the article I read about his comments it sounded like Cheney thought that Obama is more worried about "being friends" with the terrorist and less worried about stopping them from attacking us. I may not like that GITMO is there. But I do like it better than having them HERE in this country. Also I feel that sometimes asking nicely will not get you the information that is needed...therefore sometimes more drastic measures are needed. I know we will agree to disagree...but what is more important...protecting american lives or the terrorist that he bent on our distruction's rights?

I'm afraid I'm not quite that generous; I don't think Cheney has a sincere bone in his worn out body or that he really cares about this country or the people in it other than himself and those he deems worthy of his concern. Annie

Lil, I'll answer your last question first; obviously protecting American lives is number one. However, living up to our own standards is also important which means we don't torture, especially if it's someone that hasn't been charged with anything and also especially given the fact that torture doesn't work according to most experts. Now I'll back up to the beginning...the Vice President basically said every new President id tested and Obama will be no different. Cheney basically said we'll be hit if we don't continue the policies of his Administration. He also misrepresented some facts - OK, I'll say it straight out, he LIED - about detainees who had been released from Gitmo and had "gone back" to being terrorists. He definitely misrepresented what Obama has said about terrorism and security, never did he say, and I'm paraphrasing, that he just wants to make nice or be friends with them. All of that having been said, I think we all realize that OF COURSE it could happen again no matter who is President and no matter what we do. I also believe the new Administration is very concerned about this threat and will do everything possible to prevent another attack. What I don't like about the D1ck's words is that he's using his same old fear-mongering tactics in what I see as an attempt to set the Obama Administration up for a fall in the event that ANYTHING happens under their watch. Or Cheney knows something we don't know and he setting us all up for one big I told you so. You know if it does happen he will be all over the news and telling anyone who will listen I told you so. I am not a Cheney fan. Never was never will be. There is something about that man that really gives me the creeps. But I will say this for him....he believed in using whatever means he could to try and make sure it never happened here again. Now does that make up for the fact that he is a lying, cheating jerk? Heck no. But I will give him some credit for that one thing.

I caught this interview and I think it was despicable. Let's not forget that 911 occurred on the Bush/Cheyney watch. Are we to find Obama responsible for any future attack but totally exonerate the admisistration in place during the last attack? What a hypocrisy!

What hypocrisy, indeed! They've all forgotten that 9/11 happened under Bush and Cheney's watch and that prior to that day they weren't even concerned about al Qaeda at all by Bush's own admission. Everyone also loves to mention how the first World Trade Center attack happened very early in the Clinton Presidency but they never mention it didn't happen again until Bush took office! Annie

Rose, do you have any idea when the first attack on the WTC occurred? It was in 1993, way before Monica came onto the scene! Also, during the Clinton Administration there were daily briefings and he WAS concerned about al Qaeda, which is more than can be said for the Bush Administration prior to 9/11. Do you remember it being said that nobody could have predicted the terrorists would use airliners has weapons when the fact was they had gotten a memo saying EXACTLY that? The attack on 9/11 happened because a lot of people were asleep at the wheel and it was an eye-opener for everyone. However, if you insist on placing all of the blame on either Clinton or Bush I'd say it belongs squarely on Bush's shoulders. Annie

I will say this much. I wouldn't be surprised if those d1cks tried to pull another 9/11 on us just to discredit the Obama administration! It's not like they still don't have political influence and they have pulled the wool over our eyes before!

Yes it was. We still have no proof either way that there was an actually attack by 19 Saudi Arabians (whom have all been found to be alive now). What we have is actually video documentation of the buildings being hit by airplanes and collapsing much like a building demolition. We can see in the videos the systematic explosions going off as the towers fell (ie: a building demolition). We also have a past attempt documented where there were several explosives found inside of the lower levels of the one of the towers in 1992-93. I am not placing blame on any group but I know something more transpired here than a simple terrorist attack. Think about who stood to gain anything from the de3struction of the World Trade Center. Our government used this event as an excuse to go to war in The Middle East. Even if we were attacked by those 19 Saudis, why did we not attack Saudi Arabia? Where was the wreckage of a plane on at the Pentagon and Pennsylvania "crash sites?" There is definitely something more to this whole fiasco. Anyone who disagrees is just downright ignorant. We witnessed what happened live on television. Use your eyes, they are not lying to you.

The words don't scare me but they have me curious. Why at this time would he would say something in that nature? Is he hinting at something beneath the surface? It's no secret the former administration made a lot of money during their tenure in the white house doing shady business. Bush and Cheney still have agendas and wouldn't be ironic if a sudden attack happens? Just a few question's that entered my mind, because with Washington politics nothing is ever what it seems to be. thnaks Annie!

I think Cheney actually meant his head is going to explode within the next few years, and gad knows that man has had a ton of medical tests, so perhaps he's now radioactive. ;D

So it's somehow more scary when Cheney says it than when Joe Biden said it during the campaign? lol It is a scary fact, but it is still a fact. Every president will be tested by the enemies of the US as long as there are still enemies of the US.

V.P. Biden said the new President will be tested and, yes, he was right. That's not what Cheney was saying, Ted. He was basically defending the policies of the last Administration and saying that if they're not continued by the Obama Administration we'll likely be hit again. It's like he setting it up so that if, God forbid, there IS another attack the nation won't rally around Obama like it did around Bush but instead will blame him. In my opinion, any way you slice it it was fear-mongering at its worst and it was attacking the new Administration in a way and at a time that is unheard of. Annie

No, because it is just more fear-mongoring, like the last eight years.

Hi annie! I can't believe that moron even had the nerve to come back and open his stupid mouth in public! He hasn't said a word in how long? Who the hell wants to hear anything he has to say? The President doesn't need his stupid moronic comments and neither does the US! All he is doing is giving the wrong people the wrong ideas! Why doesn't someone shut him up permanently already! They need to put a gag order on him or gag him period! WTF is wrong with that azzhole! Hasn't that administration done enough damage?

I sure wish he'd just go away and STAY AWAY...lol! He's certainly proven, as if we needed proof, that he's a classless, clueless jerk. His words were possibly enough to sway the 2004 in their direction but thankfully the country has wised up since then. Annie
