Thank you for Bomb's English lesson. I've just been too tired to respond to her comment. As a native English speaker I forget that idioms can confuse non-natives.

Hi bomb, "where have you been" is just an expression. It is like asking 'how come you didn't know something that has been known for a long time?' Let me rephrase that: "Bomb, toothpaste as a remedy for pimple is a very old notion, how come you didn't know this?" And it is shortened into, "Where have you been?" Hope that helped. I, too, have difficulties with some American expressions because they are used to it and we're not. When somebody asks you 'where have you been?' please please don't reply with "ive been to london to visit the queen'LOL

i have heard about this toothpaste thing but i have not done it practically.does it leave a scar???
@bombshell (11256)
• Germany
5 Feb 09
you should try.there is no scar because you dont use the finger to open it,i mean you dont forced it.you put the toothpaste around the pimple and then in the morning it gets dry,then clean.

i have heard that from a cousin. she tried it and it worked for her. also, drinking eight glasses of water a day, with a tablespoon of fresh squeezed lemon juice also helps your skin as well as the whole body.

I haven't tried toothpaste on pimples. Though I seldom have pimples nowadays, the scars from pimples when I was younger, are still visible. I guess I will tell my kids to use toothpaste so I can see it for myself, if that really works. By the way, is there any specific brand of toothpaste to be used?
@bombshell (11256)

theres no specific brand.just use toothpaste but i heared some of my has allergyso it depends the skin type i gues. but you can try and it works fast.

yep but the last time i did it i used mint flavored and it burned and irritated my skin lol.. but i have super sensitive skin anyways
• United States
5 Feb 09
well my skin will get irritated at anything.. i cant use 99% of the facial cleansers in the store because my face will turn red and swell up.. so its probably just me.. it worked even though it burned so i think if you dont have easily irritated or sensitive skin you should be fine
@bombshell (11256)

i see so it depends the skin?ok i will be careful next time to use the flavor.

Wow, this is interesting, and something worth considering and passing on along for sure. I know that there are many times people just want to pinch them, etc. and if they tried this, it would save them a lot of possible pain for sure. Just would not want the Zit companies to get word of this, or they could be put out of business for lack of sales.
