Substitute with healthy food that taste great is a good advice. Buy some fruits that you like (apple, orange, banana, watermelon, and so on) to make your refrigerator is full. Besides that, substitute coke by juice and mineral water. Do not but chips anymore and stay away from you friend who addicted with junk food (it's better to persuade them to do the same as you). :)

Don't but it is the easiest way, buy healthy food that may take a bit more effort to prepare but will improve your health and weight in the long run. I know it isn't that easy if you've been living on it for years, but try joining a cookery class and learning how to make healthier meals, you'll notice how much better you feel after you've eaten it, and not thirsty because of all the added salt.

Try to only buy one or two junk foods when you go shopping. Buy the smallest packs they have. Going cold turkey would be hard. Also there is a place in a healthy diet for junk food in moderation. I'm on a diet and avoid as much junk as possible, jet today I bought a 100 calorie non dairy Popsicle. It was really small, but it hit the spot. I also buy really tiny 150 calorie bags of chip type snacks once in a while. It satisfies my junk food craving without blowing my diet.

going cold turkey may be a little bit too harsh, maybe slowly taking away each junk food, giving your body time to more or less detox and start eating foods that have low sodium and low fat. If you find that flavor is too bland, try to add in some spices or herbs, don't add salt. Herbs and spices are just as flavor enhancing as salt without the detrimental health effects. Over time your body will learn to let the junk food go and you will return to the light side of the food force.
