If it happend tou you - what would you like to get? Bad economy around the globe

In the end of 2008 Iceland almost got bancrupt. Banks had to close and many people lost their income. The prices in the stores was doubled from one day to another and the shelfs got empty when it came to groceries. The stores didn't want to import food since the currency had dropped very low.
Since I have a freind there, me and some other friends from a mailinglist we belong to decided to get together and buy the family some groceries and other stuff (since Chrismas was coming and their budget was very tight). We got to send them 3 packages of food and other stuff like hygiene utensils, candy, baking supplies and so on.
The stuff we did send was flour, coffee, pasta, rice, dry soups, tea, cacao, dried fruit like apricots and prunes, canes tomatoes, salt, spieces, crackers, oat meal, corn flakes, baking powder and so on.
Along with sanity pads, razors, candles, matches, wraping paper, vitamins, soap, deodorants and candy.
If we were in the same situation I would love to recieve food and stuff like what we sent - every single thing would really help.

Whoa I had no idea that was happening there. I guess if I needed a care package I would want the following things
TP, popcorn, chicken noodle soup, any type of soups, bar soap, shampoo, razors, deorderoant, condtioner, and anything that is something that I could use that is a real need. Those are just a few items I would really need. Things I would want would be a longer list I feel, lol

It's kind of scary that we never get to hear stuff like this when it happens - even here in Sweden it has not been much about it in the news - just small noticies and some if you watch the economic news.
It gets you to think how it would be if it happened to your self and your family. Now with the bad economic level in many countries I guess Iceland was just a start even if they had the worst dip this far.
