According to savage gardens affirmation “I don’t believe God supports TV evangelist”. I wouldn’t not go as far but I do have my doubts regarding some of them. I was watching on TV this morning who claimed God gave him the formula for what he calls manna bread and he has made this from the original products and this manna bread suppose to have special healing powers even make a gambler stop gambling. Don’t get me wrong if you have faith I believe that is enough to heal you ,I just have my doubts as to whether the evangelists have anything to do with it .
Another thing that strikes me too is how wealthy some of these churches are .I Think Some of these churches are commercializing the gospel to the extent that I was watching a TV evangelist who said that he could basically guarantee certain types of blessing but the “donation “ would have to be above a certain amount .This means that if you want say a job with a prestigious wall street firm you would have to “donate” more than you would if you wanted say a puppy.
I understand that modern churches require capital and infrastructure but don’t you think that some of these churches over do ,if I remember correctly I heard of a churches with jets .If there are persons out there who can justify a church having a jet please inform me.
Please I do not mean to offend anyone ,this is just my view ,tell me what is your view .Have you ever been healed by watching one of these TV evangelist shows and if so which one.

I'm not surprised at all, Jesus had already predicted that many false preachers and false prophets will arise in the last days and deceive many. If we know that some one is not right and is only after money, we should avoid that person.

Yes he did predict that would happen but the thing is everybody seems convinced that waht they believe in is the truth. A friend of mine would say they were worshipping genuinely wrong ,genuine in their approach but the worship was wrong .Anway that is not for me to decide ,just throwing it out there

I am a Christian of 30 plus years and have listened to a lot of preachers and gone to a lot of churches over time. What the television "evangelists" are preaching now is not the gospel. I wouldn't give them the time of day, much less money.
If you want to hear preaching, go to a local church.

"Prosperity Gospel" I likE that statement ,I think it perfectly describes what I am talking about.I am not holy by any long shot but I know that something just doesnt ring true with many of these so called eveangelists. It is so obviuos that many are in it just to enrich themselves

Of course they are after your money, and that's ALL they really want and the idiot masses are more then willing to give it all to them too! This kind of religion makes me sick! It's all for the money and NOT any body's soul! God is NOT talking to any of them either! Try NOT handing over a dime and see just how fast these creeps close up shop and get into another rip off business!

Hi ronnyb! I do agree with you on that. I am sorry to say it and I don't really want to offend anyone who believes in them. All I know is that one's personal faith in God is what makes miracles. I do believe in the benefits of belonging in a spiritual community that has a good leader/teacher who can help strengthen one's faith. I do believe that those learned teachers can somehow help you go to the right path. However, it is so disappointing when you see your own priest/minister will only give much importance to those with money and who could give more donations. I do understand that they need donations to build churches and to spread the Word of God but what makes me sad and doubt them is seeing that they measure one's faith and service to God with how much money one is giving. Very sad when one uses God in this kind of purpose. I remember one mylotter said before that religion is one of the oldest and prosperous business to which I completely agree. Just a thought!
take care and have a great day!

Genesis did a song called "Jesus he knows me" a while back (quite awhile now). It pretty much talks about some of this. Also the hypocrisy of a lot of them. The music video is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-rfCnW5VlE Some of the lyrics include:
"Ill get you everything you wanted
Ill get you everything you need
Dont need to believe in hereafter
Just believe in me"
"Im counting my blessings,
Ive found true happiness
Cos Im getting richer, day by day
You can find me in the phone book,
Just call my toll free number"
Of course...it might freak you out when they sing:
"I believe in the family
With my ever loving wife beside me
But she dont know about my girlfriend
Or the man I met last night"
Anyway...it is funny and raises some questions. Too many TV evangelists are rich and many get caught doing things they shouldn't. Definitely things that are different then they preach.

Hi ronnyb, I think TV evangelists (at least most of them) are just out to make money and some of them are making Christianity a laughing stock to the world. I`ve seen so many of them is the course of my lifetime that I`m completely turned off and will not watch any of them. Some Christian churches no longer support them. Blessings
