will you spank your kids?

Hi doc_alma_jones, I do not agree with spanking and feel that it's just telling kids that violence is okay. My late wife and I raised three boys and never once considered spanking, they are married now with children of their own and are raising them in the same manner. Parents are the adults, surely we can find a better way to manage our children! I might add that my parents raised nine children and never once resorted to spanking. I know that some parents agree with it and that is their decision, as long as it doesn't become abusive. Blessings.

I have raised 4 kids of my own and 2 grandchildren. I have spanked all of them at one time or another and I would again. I believe that spanking should be controlled and used as a last resort when all else fails. Spanking a child will not hurt their self-esteem or their shyckie just their bottoms. I do think that there should be an age limit on spanking. and that is when they are old enough to be reasoned with. Yes I was spanked as a child I was very stubborn.

I am not going to be having kids but I have felt like beating the crap out of some kids that I see.

Well I'm not yet married nor become a parent. So my viewpoint would be as a daughter. Anyway, I've been hit my mother way back when I was still a kid. I cannot blame her though, I'm such a naughty kid way back. Most of the times, my mother would only tell me what are the right things to do but there are also time where I have reached her limit and she can't help herself but to hurt me. As for me, spanking is wrong if it is ABUSED. What I mean is, if it is used even without a proper reason. We cannot deny that kids these days are hard to mold, words are no longer enough. Maybe that is why parents sometimes able to hurt their kids.
