Ok, so i used to be a shoppaholic. i loved to buy earings, ornate, big, bold earings. I loved to buy big rings too. Also I love purses! And shoes. Just thinking about it is making me want to go shop online. But now I have become so responisble. First I got resposible when I had my son, then even more when I had my daughter, and now with the economy the way it is, I haven't bought myself anythin for over 6 months. Its sad....:( but I buy my kdis stuff all the time, so its ok. But when was the last time you bought yourself something nice?

I know exactly what you mean about becoming responsible and all your money going else where. Before my girls & buying property I used to love buying clothes & shoes.
The last time I bought something for me......about 2 months ago, I got myself a top.
It's great that you have managed to become responsible with your money and it's lovely you treat your kids but remember you have to treat you every once in a while too x

I love to shop but not so much for myself. I love shopping for my kids and family. The last thing I bought for myself was a digital camera case for a camera I got for Christmas.

I recently moved to a viliage where are no shops except from a supermarked, and living here has changed my shopping habits a bit. When I was living in a big town there was a shopping center within walking distance, and I often went there just to buy a few things. Now it is too expensive just to go to town to buy a few things, and I usually combine my shopping with my other activities in the town. I have to go to town twice a month for other reasons so I shop once or twice a month. I don't miss having the chance to shop every day, I spend less money now than I did before and I am able to save up more money.

The key is to shop "smart". For example, it is said that it is not good to shop for groceries while you are hungry. The same happens whenh you shop around without a plan on a Payday. It is a good idea to make a monthly budget and decide for key pieces. You can chose to buy 1 new outfit and 5 different accessories which mixed and matched will create different looks. If you buy neutral colored clothing(black, white, gray, browns, beige, navy and burgundy), it will be easy to match with older pieces from your wardrobe. To be trendy and in the fashion of the moment all you really need are good accessories like fashion jewelry, that retails from $2.99 to $4.99, to belts, scarfs, hair accessories, handbags and shoes. If you have good basics all you need are some accessories to change your outfits and not spend a fortune!

it is nice to go shopping if you have extra money to do it. now that it's belt tightening time , i only have enough to pay off my bills and i am ok with it just as long that i can eat more than three times a day and pay my bills, i am not only contented but also happy. it is easier to live without thinking what to buy. i recycle my clothes and if ever i need something i save up for it.

I love shopping too! But like you, I've had to cut back for financial reasons and I do buy my kids things now instead of myself. My last splurge was on a Coach purse last summer. It was on sale, and I can't resist Coach purses, so I steer away from their stores whenever I see them!
