Sad thing on the news

My local animal shelter is closing. The MSPCA has to close three shelters in order to stay afloat in these tough economic times. They're closing the shelter in Springfield by March 31st. Another local animal shelter is scrambling to find space to house the over seven hundred animals that are currently in the Springfield shelter, although their director says that they don't have to budget for that. I hope the news story helps. Maybe some benefactor will come along and fund the shelter, you never know. I wish I could go down there and pick up a new cat friend for Richard. He really likes other cats and I think misses his own species on a regular basis. They have a cat there that looks just like him even, but the landlord says no and I don't feel like getting evicted. I'm going to call tomorrow and ask what I can do to help, if anything.

That is sad. I think we will see alot more of this going on. I hope they find someplace for all of them or someone steps in.

oh that is sad to hear, animal shelters are the best friend of animals, after having recent dealings with our local animal shelter I know what good they do and how many animals would suffer without them and how many poorer people will not have somewhere to go to get reasonably priced help for their pets...believe me I know....
