My grandson likes to eat rice mixed up with dishes, preferably tasty dish soups. But his mother, or my daughter in law, strictly bans it, so as the result, much less appitite for the kid. I notise that the Italian foods are often mixed ups, very eye catching and inviting. I am requesting your advice if there is really anything wrong with the mixed up?

We Parsis in India have rice mixed with curries or soups or dals (pulses)daily in the afternoon, and it makes for wholesum good food which is tasty and appertising. Anything to make the kids eat and if the child likes it that way, then it is totally wrong for your dil to forbid it. Has she ever given any reason to you. Maybe you could make her read the replies and she will see some sense.

Hi zhuhuifen It is very strange to know that your daughter in law is not allowing her son to eat rice mixed up tasty dishes. There is nothing wrong in it. In fact in our country, rice is always taken by all in that way only. Any how,she should be interested in her child more than you. Just ignore it. Happy mylotting

I don't see what's wrong with it. Italian food is often served over some type of noodles, while dishes like curry and traditional US southern food are served over rice. Rice and noodles are good fillers and a lot of children like to eat carbohydrates (which is what rice and noodles are). Eating some carbohydrates is good for you, as this provides the energy that your brain uses to function.
