I have seen that there are a lot of questions coming up in myLot.. Most of them get more than 30-50 responses.. Do you guys comment ( I mean 'reply') those who responded to your discussions? or would you just rate them? Its not just for those who get 60 responses, This Question is for all.. I believe it is an act of "courtesy" to respond, but if the count goes above skyline, you could at least rate them. Would you do that? May be you can not come up with 'the best' response, either b'cos there is none, or b'cos there is more than 1 best response, but at least rating/ commenting would do. Do you take your time to do that?

I agree with you. I think there's no point in replying to everyone if their responses are all the same or similar, which happens a lot in discussions. You would end up leaving the exact same comment for every response. o_o Again, like you, I think it's nice to rate someone that responded to a discussion. Unless their comment is spam or something not constructive at all, I rate them positive. I believe that this way, you're adknowledging that they took the time to come to your discussion, read it, and leave a response that contributes. I only leave a best response if I find that someone's answer stands out in front of all the rest. I don't do this immediately though, because I usually wait a week or two for everyone that's interested in the discussion to reply (or else I might end up awarding the best response to someone that was just early and not as constructive as a late responder). Usually in my discussions though, there is no right or wrong answer and there is no best response, so in that case, I won't give one out at all. I rate all my responders and I try to leave a comment, even if a short one, for all of them, but I stop if I feel that the responses get too repetitive (in that case I would just rate them).

For awhile I totally forgot to rate discussions. I have been trying to remember and doing a much better job. Sometimes I have nothing to add to the discussion. So I might rate it and move on. Other times I do both. I have really been working at remembering. I think I have got it down now.

I personally feel, that negative rating should be given only to those who give a very bad/ absurd response, that is harmful or abusive. I feel it is good to rate the responses.. thanks for your share of response..

Most of the time i would rate and reply to the comments made under my discussions as what you have said it is an act of courtesy or acknowledging them for the effort that had shared. Although is I am so busy and can't reply to all of the comment i would take time to read on it and rate those that i like. Happy mylotting and have a great day!!!

I normally try to comment on everything, even if there's a lot of responses to a discussion that I made. I very rarely rate someone according to their response or the discussion they make, mainly because I'm still a little bit confused on how the rating system works. Usually I would rate when there's an exceptionally good response that really helped me and deserved a rating. But I would still comment on the responses when I have time.

I think it's rude NOT to rate, at least, and respond if there's something to respond to. After all, when you start a discussion, shouldn't you keep tabs on it, or redirect it if necessary? And also thank the people who par-take in it. :) Personally, although I'm still kind of new here, I try to do both.

Hello Jaj_sahi! I have some discussions who got more than 60 responses and if you will check it, I commented to all of them. I commented back to them so that they will know that I appreciate them for responding to my discussion and that to let them know that I accepted their opinions.

I love reading the responses in my discussions. If the response is somewhat vague, I will do a follow-up question. If a response struck a chord in my brain, I will make a comment. I always rate all responses though and choose a best responses if I saw an outstanding one.

I always used to rate good responses in my discussions and mostly I rate people poitsitively.I remember only once I rated a member negatively because he has written some thing very bdly about my country.... I have also not got tired t mark best responses in my discussions... respondind---yes it depends,i will do it if there are very less, because I cant comment a large number of responses in my discussions....
