Counting Posts?

I have been busy posting this morning and just noticed something odd. It seems the number beside my screen name only changes when I create a new discussion OR post to a topic. If I respond directly to a comment then it doesn't count. Is this correct? I don't have a problem with it, I'm just still sifting through all the rules here and trying to get used to it.

I am fairly new here myself, however as I understand it you are correct. Commenting on a comment does not count toward your number of posts or your pay. I think they did this so it was easier ot weed out comments like "I agree" and stuff like that that doesn't really say anything when it was time to pay people.
