I woke up this morning and saw my two bath towels wadded up on the floor. Last I remember, I hung them up after my shower. I have no idea why in the world I would bring towels into my bedroom and throw them on the floor! I haven't been sleepwalking since I was divorced, maybe something is bothering me. Do you sleepwalk? If so, what do you do while you're asleep--do you get into mischief?

I don't but my son used to. He would get up and go to the bathroom against the walls. I woke up one night with him standing over me, getting ready to pee on me. That wasn't funny at the time, but we have a good laugh about it now.

HAHAHA That is sooo weird.I sleepwalked last time a year ago.I was sleeping and i woke up in about 5 o'clock as my girlfriend told me.I was trying to get out of the house.I was banging on the door and making weird noices.I was saying "Lemego" which meant let me go.I don't remember what i dreamt of.She was scared and stunned but when she saw that that was just me,she put me back to bed. I can't think of what fear she felt. Thats weird.

I was very, very tired. I haven't slept well for a couple of weeks due to my arthritis so maybe that was it. It's very scary to be in a situation like your girl was, having some guy pounding on the door to get out!! Good for her, keeping her head and getting you back to bed. She sounds very sensible and reliable. You obviously felt trapped by some situation in your life, I hope that's resolved now. She sounds like someone you should keep and appreciate.

I don't sleepwalk now, but did for a time in my teens. I had to wear a brace for my teeth, and during the night I had to wear a pretty uncomfortable contraption around my head. I hated it! Anyway, I used to get up in the night and hide it from myself! Once I stopped wearing the brace, I stopped sleepwalking.

That must've been awfully uncomfortable! I wore braces but never had a contraption like that, thank goodness!

Hi, dragon54u. I have never sleepwalked in my entire life. When I am asleep, I am asleep. I only wake up to go to the bathroom or to get something to drink. I think experiencing this can be very scary. There is no telling what can happen when sleepwalking takes over our subconscious. I hope that you will never experience anything like this again.

I haven't sleepwalked since then, I think that was just a particularly bad night and I've had several since my divorce. Since that morning I've really advanced and decided that it's time to pack up the past and stop brooding about it and second guessing myself about how I could have prevented it. I'm much better now--I don't sleep much better, I never have slept well, but I quit sleepwalking and I'm concentrating forward instead of backward. Thank you for the good wishes, friend!

Hello my dear Dragon. I have never sleepwalked nor have i met someone that did, so this is quite interesting for me to hear this from you. I did see this in cartoons and movies, but we all know that things there have a tendency for exaggeration.

In the cartoons the characters sleepwalk and do crazy things and even find hidden treasure--I would be happy to sleepwalk if that could happen to me!

Cripes Almighty Dragon! Wow, you know, when I was little, I think I may have slept walked. Is that the right tense? Anywho, I'm not sure if it was just a dream or not. Many of my "memories" I am told, were just dreams or fantasies. When I was little, fantasy and reality blurred a lot. But my sister told me that when she lived in Austin a few years back, her fiance' rescued her, because she almost sleep walked off the balcony of her apt! Be careful Dragon. You know, you could video tape yourself. I wonder if you "sleep-eat" as well. There are people who sleep-eat. It's because their brains are still active while sleeping. Well, I mean their brain is in between subconcious and conscious. If you have any institutes around you, maybe you could volunteer for a sleep study and they could monitor your sleep and tell you exactly why it's happening. If you are really worried, see if a neighbor or trusted friend can pull an all-niter and watch to see if you leave your bedroom at night. Do you shut the door to your bedroom? Are you opening doorknobs? Maybe you could put loud bells on the door knobs, like they have in stores when you open the door.Or you could find some of those Christmas socks with bells on them. Thank Goodness, you're not wanderin out into the woods tryin to hunt squirrel in your sleep...or ARE you Ellie Mae?

Hunting squirrels?! Ha! My rifle needs repair, it's not functional right now so I'd have to kill them with my bare hands. I put up the baby gate last night, just in case. I had it installed by my nephew last year when my mom fell and broke her pelvic bone. It's eye level and if I ran into it, it would wake me up. This is rare for me as an adult. I haven't slept well for months because of my arthritis and I think maybe that is the cause of it. I wake up several times a night with pain, it really sucks. That's probably why I'm sleepwalking, because it feels better when I get up and walk around. I know what you mean about childhood memories, I "remember" a lot of things that just didn't happen, like seeing a monster in the basement. I'll be fine, don't worry about me! That baby gate will keep me from tumbling down the stairs and I stayed in my bed last night.

Hi dragn54u. The last time that I know that I sleepwalked is when I was 12 years old. I know that I woke up in the middle of the night and my father was leading me back into my bedroom. In the morning he told me that I walked to the main door and I was trying to get out wearnin gmy pijama.

I guess I have been stressed lately and that's why I walked in my sleep. It's tax time here and that's stressful for everyone in the States. Except politicians--you've probably heard we have several politicians that haven't paid their taxes? If it were me, I'd be in jail! Anyway, I wonder why I brought my bathtowels into the bedroom? Very strange!
