Lately I've been going through my emails and MyLot folders trying to clean up old discussions as well as keeping up with new discussions. I've put a limit of no discussion older than 6 months. So, to let ppl know, if you find one of your old discussions suddenly responded to...it's just me cleaning out the cobwebs. Does anyone else try to play catch up? Does it bother you when ppl respond to older discussions or are you happy to see them ressurected? What's the furthest back you'll go in answering a discussion? I am always delighted to see someone reply to one of my old discussions! It means that I caught the interest of someone and validates the importance of my opinions. I need to go through and pick the "best response" to tons of things. I owe it to my respondents but I'm so busy right now...funny how now that I don't have a job I'm busier than ever!

Doesn't bother me a bit when older discussions are responded to. Sometimes while searching through interests for something to respond to, there are some pretty old ones listed. I once responded to a discussion that was 2 years old...and got a reply from the original poster. If you;ve ever used the search feature on discussions, you come up with some pretty old ones too.

I did not know you could delete old discussions..Is that what you are speaking about or just catching up by answering old discussions?

Hey Twoey! I've not been as active since the New Year in case you've wondered where I was.... To answer your question, I don't mind when people bring up older discussions of mine as for me, I don't like going back any further than two months in replying to my friends discussions....Recently, I had so many that I had to delete all from 2008 and so all I have is 2009 discussions in my E-Mail now...Hopefully I can work my way through them soon as I have done some the day they came in like this one ...I think I have about a hundred in there still as it is! ~Heavens~

i don't care, but often I have to go back to the discussion to figure out what the responder is talking about. I wrote some strange discussions

I am playing catch up right now! I had a bunch of emails because I was not home over the weekend and there was a lot of activity with new discussions and responses and comments.

Personally for me, I find it quite enjoyable to see some of my Older discussions getting resurected and people taking time to respond back to them. I know I need to catch up on more of my Friends older discussions in here myself as well. But since I am way behind on giving out Best Responses some of the older discussions I see get brought back up are when others Thank me for rewarding them as well. But personally sometimes I think there is no real time limit unless it is an outdated discussion is all.

I am bad about getting behind in discussions. Life gets so hectic sometimes that it's hard to find the time to answer any.I haven't really put a limit on how old a discussion has to be before I won't respond. So far, here lately I haven't gotten more than a month or two behind. I love to get responses to all my discussions, no matter how old they are.

I do catch up with some of the discussions I didn't get to respond to but I tell them my apologies and the reason for the delay directly in my responses. I am not bothered if people respond to my old discussions. I appreciate people responding even if it's late..thankful that they took time off to do that. I think I will answer anything even if it's too old as long as I answer it all.

I'm doing the same thing, twoey. So don't be surprised if I end up responding to one of your discussions from last year. lol I have over 1000 in my inbox and I'm determined to go through each and every one of them and respond to the ones I have input on.

I've answered discussions that are years old, I still sometimes get responses to discussions I posted when I first joined Mylot. I like to see my old discussions resurrected it shows people who share my interests are on here somewhere, though I'm not sure you earn much from responses to old discussions.

LOL. I have 1000 waiting for me to get to. I'm slowly knocking them down, but I am determined no matter how old they are, I will at least have a look at them. For discussion I start, I will keep replying to responses as long as the responses keep rolling in.

I've been doing that myself lately, resurrecting some of my old discussions. Part of the reason for this, is that I keep seeing discussions indicating that apparently it bothers people when they do not get responses to their responses. No one ever said this in reference specifically to me, I just have a guilty conscience. So every so often, I go back and try to respond to everything and pick a best response. I know other people do this, too, as every so often I see in my email a response to something, and I barely remember the post because it was so long ago. It doesn't bother me, though.

Hi twoey68, I try to play catch up at least once a week. Working full time and many things on my plate, I do good on this schedule. I feel guilty if I don't keep up with the discussions here, especially the ones I've started. The longest I've ever waited to respond is about a week and a half or so. I don't always have time to reply to every response but I do take time to rate them accordingly.

I am allways happy to see people responding to my discussions, no matter how old they are. The fact that they take the time and effort to respond gives me a good feeling, so I don't care how old it is and whether or not it's resolved. If I see a discussion I like I will respond to it, even if it's 4 years old! . The only thing that bothers me is whether or not that person might still be active on mylot.. sometimes I check their profile first to see if they have been active in the last 3 months or so. But like I said, it wouldn't stop me if I really like the discussion. One of my dear mylot friends helped me resolve some of my three year old discussions that got not a single response, I was very happy with that and it were nice quality responses .

Okay does not bother me. I am just so happy when someone finally replies to one of my zero response discussions. I have no idea how far I will go back. It depends on whether they beg a lot or whether I have enough time. I do not like to have unanswered discussions so if anyone tells me that they have some that has not been answered in some time, then I will go to their profile page and do one or two.

I guess there are lots of folders that could use some maintenance. I like all of them and use them quite often when I need to use them and am in the mood to use them folders that are too old should be gotten rid of in my opinion.

I feel like I am playing catch up all the time! Next week I will be playing too. Luckly I am only a week behind. As you can see, since this discussion is already a week old. I to am curious what others think to this. Does it bother them that one of their friends can't get to their discussion the same day or even a day or two after it started? I hope not. I don't mind if people respond to discussions of mine that are old because then they bring it back up and usually I will start getting some more responses again. As for me I don't care if the discussion is a year old if it's something I want to comment on or have an opinion about I will still respond to it.
