How you old should a person be when they are considering not being a virgin?

We all hear it in the news how teens are having more and more babies, everyday. The numbers are simply astounding. I was 14 when I lost my virginity. I regret having ever lost it now. But I am in a way glad I did lose it early, because now I know about how I used to feel peer pressure from the other guys/gals that I had as friends and know how the guys will lie and say literally anything just to make it to home plate with a girl.
How old were you?
Have you sat down with your kids to discuss the birds/and bees?
Are there any regrets as a result of you losing your virginity?

I lost mine when I was 17.. That is when I got married yes I lost my virginity to my husband. My view is the most wonderful gift a lady could give her husband is her virginity.

Wow, at 17, they haven't even got out of the teenage years. I feel they should wait until they are married. I wish I would have.

opps, my mistake, I was thinking I type the question as "how old do you think they should be allowed, and not how old were you?
That's totally, my error. My last comment was based solely upon that thought and not what I actually wrote. I didn't realize it until your second response.
I apologize, I was trying to be judgmental or anything. After all I was 14 when it happened to me.

it is clearly my mistakes, I was mixing up two similar discussions with the responses I received. I apologize.
