I bought a book with money that I got for Christmas and it is called 501 Islands. I have been to some of the islands in it and the book that has many color photos of islands that I would love to discover in the future. What sort of island do you like most? Have you been to many islands? Is there one island or a group of islands you would like to go to?

Though I have been to many sea beaches, I have not visited any island yet. It's my dream to spend a holiday in a exotic island. I love lonely islands where not much human population is there... where only the blue waters of the sea, the green trees and azure sky can be seen, the roaring of the waves and chirping of birds can be heard..and the saltiness of the sea can be smelled.. Waters on all side gives a subtle beauty to islands. There can be a single island or groups of islands which I would like to visit...I would love to visit Hawaii and the Phillipine islands!!

I also love islands. In Denmark we have more than 400 islands, and I have visited many of them. Some of them are big and some of them are very small. There is a brigde or a ferry to the largest islands, but you need your own boat to visit some of the small islands. There are also a few islands that you are not allowed to visit. On some islands it is possible to spend the night, but I usually go there on a day trip. I love exploring a new island Close to the village where I just moved there is an island called Boogoe, I haven't been yet, but I look forward to visiting it in the summer.

Hi Maxi. How are you ? Yes, islands have their unique natural beauties. I have been to a number of islands and island countries. One place I was so exited about was Sumatra Island in Indonesia. I was on the west side of the island , the mountains and the sea shores were so lovely. I very much enjoyed visiting the resorts too.

My perfect idea of an island is one with lots of palmiers, luxurious vegetation, nice white fine sand beaches.

Well I must admit that islands are the best place to travel to. Mainly because you are closest to the ocean. The sun glimmering off the ocean entices you to sun bathe and swim. Tropical and exotic islands are a plus to. Especially, islands that have lots of exploration and high adventure activities that you can particpate in. I love that in these exotic islands they always have to special traditions, sacred dances, sports, or something you do not normally see. They are so beautiful and they really make you think about this wonderous earth that we are on. (These words might sound a little wierd, but one can I say. It is what I feel about islands!)

How I wish other people can see how beautiful are the islands in Tawi-tawi. I stayed there for almost a year and I can say that the islands there are truly incomparable. I can't describe the magic when the sun rises kissing the sparkling waters of the sea. It's very different from other sun rises I saw in other parts of our country (Philippines). The sun sets are no different, they will keep you mesmerized for minutes as the sun creeps slowly in the clouds down to the sea in the horizon. And I am sure that I will never get tired watching the scenes as they seem to change from day to day. The beaches are very natural. Littered with sea shells, drift woods and dried sea plants. And yes, some of the beaches are of natural white sand. There was even this islet connected to an inhabited island by almost a 500 meter of white sand. During high tides, the connection is submerged in shallow water. The best part I think is the underwater vegetation in the area. There are some areas damaged by dynamite and poisonous substance fishing . But that survived are a site to behold. Just snorkeling in the area and you can already see a multi-colored communities of corals and fishes - green, yellow, orange, blue, red and more. You can also see huge coral heads there. I'm not good describing things and even if I am, I don't think words are enough to illustrate the beauty of Tawi-tawi. For those who do not know, Tawi-tawi is the southernmost province of the Philippines. It is near Malaysia and owns Turtle Island which has been made as a turtle sanctuary. The province has a growing sea weed industry and marine farming is being initiated by non-government organizations as another source of income of the residents. It is always included in the places to be avoided by foreigners visiting the Philippines because of its proximity to Sulu, a province notorious tagged as the camping ground of rebel groups and kidnappers.
