If only I am feeling thirsty I drink water before coffee. My mom says we should not drink water over coffee and that is enough for me to not to do that.

For me, it's the other way around. After I drink tea or coffee, that's when I drink water to "wash" the taste off my mouth. I have never met or seen anyone drink water before having their coffee though.

Hi anirban I do drink two glasses of water before I take a cup of coffee in the morning. I think, first taking the water will cool our body. But the water thearapists say that we should drink 8-10 glasses of water immediately after getting up from bed for a healthier body functions. Drinking sufficient water will clear toxins from the body, dilute the blood for easy flow so that heart don't have pump hard etc.. Whatever may the reasons behind,I do drink daily water before coffee. Happy mylotting.

Hmmmm . . . I guess I do it backwards because I drink at least 8 oz. following a cup of tea or coffee. My doctor said it would help prevent dehydration which commonly occurs with caffeine intake.

I dont I just go ahead and have my coffee in the morning. Maybe people do it to clear up there dry mouth when awaking. All I want when I get up is my coffee.
