I always shop around, even though the price looks good when you see it, shop around. Bottom line is there is always a better price out there, if your willing to work. Don't be hesitant, to tell the business that you are shopping around for the best price. This will prompt them to act on this, and knock the price down. Also if I'm in a store, and I see a price that is higher then what I pay somewhere else, I will tell the customers where to get it cheaper, or I will blurt out that I can get the product cheaper, right in front of the store staff!

I try to leave money in my paypal whenever possible rather than transferring it straight to the bank. That way I have it whenever I want it or need it.

I take 25% of whatever I make, whether from tips or from paychecks, and that's what I use to have fun with. The rest I put into a savings account (technically another checking account without a debit card) and take the 25% and put it into a separate checking account, that way I always have a little money to spend as I like.

Turn off lights that you don't need. Less electricity. Walk to the store inside of driving across the street. Less gas. Pay bills online. Save a stamp. Settle for a PB&J instead of a burger from Mickey D's. Healthier anyways. Shop around and get different quotes for insurance. They complete and try to gain the business.

some ideas-- Contribute 5 or 10% from your salary to a 401K or other retirement plan through payroll deduction... you won't miss it. Use coupons to save on food an cleaning supplies, either newspaper coupons or online. Make up meals in big batches and freeze it; then you won't eat out as much or order in because you're too tired to cook. Barter for goods or services instead of paying money. Walk more, or ride a bike, when doing short errands to save on gas.
