Can you stand being alone?

I notice these days, when I go to school or anywhere public, people usually walk in group. If they are not in a group and are walking alone, they are usually playing with their cellphones or have their head sets on. My friend loves to be by herself that she goes to concerts by herself. Can you do this? Or do you need company always with you?

I would say that puts your right in the middle... which is probably the healthiest! You know how to like both. Haha. Thanks for posting!

Do you have panic disorder? I have that sometimes. I feel safer when there are people that I know are around sometimes.

I've been independent since I was 17 and I don't really require having a group or someone with me all the time. I see nothing wrong also with people who are more comfortable when they are in a group. It's still your personal preference. But I can shop more and relax more when I go out alone.

Did you prefer being alone? Or is it more comforting now with your kids?

I've always been independent, unlike my sister, who seems to always want to talk or be with her friends. I love hanging out with my friends and such, but I don't need to always be with a friend or something. I can stand being by myself. I guess I'm one of those people, who prefers being by herself. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy having friends and such. I'm certainly not going to give my friends up, even if I do enjoy being by myself.

But that's an important quality to have, it's good to have, but it's good you keep your friends too. I guess this is another thing to balance in life. Thanks for your input!

hi there, I don't mind being alone the odd time when I go shopping, I find I can get things done a lot quicker when I'm by myself, but I do like company when I know I'm going to be out for awhile, It makes the day go by faster. Going to concerts or a special event is more fun when you have people with you. ~proudnana~

Hi! I don't really like to go shopping in general but I think if it's a concert... and if I'm going only for the purpose of watching/ listening to the performance that I love then... maybe I'd be able to go without someone, but it's nice when you can share that fun with another person who agrees with you. Thanks for your input!

I do love being on my own, I like my own space but when going to concerts or places like that I like company, I can't go to a restaurant by myself other than McDonalds. I prefer to go to McDonalds on my own as this is my relaxing time, I like to go there and sit with a burger and fries and a coffee and read their newspaper they have there for customers to read...Shopping I mostly prefer to do on my own as well except occasionally I go with a friend....I think it is good to be comfortable with your own company...

Before I had children, I hated being alone and always needed someone with me when I did anything. Now that I'm raising five children, I crave alone time and I prefer being out in public on my own. Right now I'm alone, as a matter of fact, and I'm relishing in the moment because it's rare! LOL

Wow, five children? I'd want some alone time too if I had five children (I'd imagine).
