i have just seen the news.Michael Phelps is a great swimmer and i respect him and his achievements, but being caught, that's not a very good example to give after all those medals in the Olympics. What do you think?Do you think his punishment is fair?tell me your thoughts...

Did not see anything about him on local news today, but the other day they said he probably will be facing charges. As far as I am concerned everyone makes a mistake and he made a big one. He needs to do some damage control, alot of kids looked up to him and want to be like him. I am sure that his mom is real disappointed in him. I think famous people feel that they can do whatever they want and not have to pay the price.

thanks for answering. It's tough, i agree with you he does have to do some damage control. And he must be in trouble with the whole mom disappointment subject you talked about.Being a celebrity is hard, people are always looking for your dirt. But i agree with you he is not better or superior than anyone. He must pay some price that's for sure...i think he has a great public image,so if he plays the cards right it would be like this never happened. But i don't know, because my perspective is the perspective of a non-American.I don't know how things are going there in the U.S.People there looked up to him more than i do that's for sure,so i don't know ho people are reacting over there.either way,it's tough...

I think the punishment was fair, even he said it was fair. he is a 23 year old who really trains so much he probably missed out on doing a lot of the things kids get to do and is probably lacks a little bit of good judgment as he has managers and trainers and agents making the decisions in his life. People make mistakes and do stupid things, his unfortunately for him is probably going to cost him a whole bunch of money in endorsements. Was it dumb, yes, is he a bad person because of it, no. Being in the public eye and being able to make the kind of money he can make comes with some serious consequences. It is a trade off people in that position have to make.
