For the sake of promotion, do you display your capabilities or entertain your boss?

I would display 100% of my capablities for the sake of promotion.
I believe in a fair competition.
If I am not valued fairly in a company, I would rather reconsider my options.

I would only show my capabilities. I do not think we should have to entertain to get the promotion.
