Which method of communication do you prefer and get the most out of:
Talking on the phone/voicechat
Communicating through Email/Letters
Communicating through IM/Texting
Communicating through Video/Chat
Talking In Person
and why?
I prefer talking in person. It's easier to get a read on people and there is less room for miscommunication.

Hi ya scorpio19
It really does depend on who it is. If it is my mum then I prefer to speak to her in person. If it is my brother then we Skype (video chat) as he is in Kuwait so it is easier and cheaper to do that. If it is my other brother then it is usually email with his wife as he is no good with a pc so I talk with mostly on the phone but not very often. My other friends I usually IM because then I can do other things like myLot at the same time! LOL

Hi Humbug,
It is personal preference, I've used Skype it's not a bad service and free so it can't be knocked but I'm the same even if I have to make a doctor's appointment I much prefer to call in and speak to the receptionist than phone.

Hi scorpio,
I like to talk to people face to face but if I can't I perfer to talk to them on the phone, I don't like texting because it is just short, and too much fiddling round with your phone, can't do videos. Love and hugs.

Hi Scorpio I have always liked talking to a person, its more personal and you are able to explain things more rather than texting or emailing them...texting can sometimes can be taken the wrong way too...hugs littleowl

Ho Littleowl,
Yes, like yourself it's much better to talk face to face I find via email or chatting your putting your own emphasis on words so therefore we just have more chance of taking what's been said in the incorrect way which drives me mad.

I also prefer talking in person because I think gestures and expressions are an important part of conversation. All the other methods you mentioned don't allow you to see the person you're talking (except video chat, but for me it's often laggy and not the same as when you're talking in person). You just don't get to see the faces they make and what they're really thinking (which is often different from what they'll say), which is why I prefer this method. Like you said, there's less room for miscommunication as well, and it's a lot quicker too.
My second one would be IM or texting. I think that talking on the phone or voicechat is more personal that just seeing the words, but I don't really like telephone conversations when people can hear my voice and focus on it. IM or texting is quicker too, when you're in a quiet area and you can just send a quick message to someone and they can get back to you later. I find it more convenient then talking with voice or e-mails, which can take days to get a response to.

Hi Zezloler,
Thanks for your response and I really have to say, I agree with you and your excellent reasons, although I can't text for toffee I hate texting because I just aren't quick enough at it, so I always get my kids to reply to my texts.
